Re: The Official TTC Thread!

welcome BrownEyes :)

Sorry for CD 1 LadyBlue. I know how frustrating it can be.

Sorry for the OPK mixup lliang_chi - I think it's time for me to jump on the OPK bandwagon too.. I wonder where a good source of cheap OPKs in Canada would be? I know you guys order off Amazon but they don't ship all of their products to Canada...

NEL - I'm sorry for the stress you and your DH have been under. It must be so sad to see your Byron deteriorating :(

I'm on CD21 here.. not sure if I had any O symptoms since I have never noticed before and my CM seems not to cooperate.. anyway - I have the endo appointment on Tuesday so I'll report back what she says..

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi ladies!

I know it has been awhile since I popped in but I needed to take a break from all the TTC after my fertility appt. I took the last week and a half and just relaxed and focused on my family. It felt good to take a little break. We also bought a new car which was a great distraction with all of the research, test drives, etc. So I am back! :wavey: I hope you all are doing well. I'll try to catch up on this thread tonight but I wanted to pop in to say hello and I am still here!

I am on CD 13 and I got a positive LH surge on my OPK this morning which was early for me as I usually don't get one till CD15 or CD16. My Dh and I were going to start a BD marathon tomorrow, but once we got the positive this morning we made sure to BD this morning so we don't miss it! We are also going to try for more BD tonight and tomorrow morning sometime. I was so surprised when the surge came early. I hope we don't miss the egg!!! My RE told me that once I got a positive OPK to BD on that day and the day after so I guess we should be all set but usually I like to get started with the BD marathon a couple of days before O. Well either way, I feel refreshed from the time off and am ready to get back into baby making mode!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

brown_eyes, welcome to the board! Thanks for the caring words about Byron--what kind of dog do you have?

LC, how are you feeling? Were you able to recover from being sick over the weekend? Sorry to hear about your OPK mixup--you've had a series of unfortunate events lately!

Monkeyprincess, how are you doing? You are right that a couple of months isn't going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things, I'm just eager to get started, haha. I'm one of those people who always likes having a plan in place, so I feel better knowing we're on the same page and have some sort of plan. But I'm also like you--I don't want there to be too much pressure around it. So I like a plan, but no pressure...go figure!

LadyBlue, I'm so sorry about AF showing up--I can understand your frustration about it not making sense to see a doctor right now. I think the holistic doctor is a great idea. At least it will help you feel like you're doing something...then if you're still in this boat after you move you'll have the option of seeing a specialist.

Pumpkin, thanks for the kind words about Byron--he's actually been improving over the last week, which has been amazing to see. He's still paralyzed and probably won't go into remission (we're trying!) but just to see him stronger has been so uplifting for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you O soon!

LizzyAnn, it's great to see you again! I can certainly understand needing a break, you've been through so much. I hope you're enjoying the BD marathon, though! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

AFM, things are actually going really well! Byron is feeling a little better and is in the hospital over the next two days getting his final chemo treatment. We know it would be a miracle if it worked, but I'm open to miracles! Even if it doesn't, he's been stronger this week (still paralyzed, but stronger) than he has been in over a month and it's been great to see him relatively happy again. Things are looking good on the TTC front as well. D and I have decided that when our box of condoms runs out, then we'll stop using any protection. I've missed this cycle (I think I Oed last week...either CD20 or CD21), but it looks like next month might be our first "trying" cycle and I'm excited.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi NEL, I know all too well what you mean about feeling impatient. The three months before we officially started trying were torture for me. And now that we have started trying, I want it to happen yesterday. It’s so hard when something you want so badly is somewhat out of your control. But yay for no more condoms!

Hi Lizzy, glad you are back. Crossing my fingers for you that this will be your month and you can put your troubles behind you.

LC, hope you’re feeling better. Thanks for trying to put things in perspective for me.

On my end, I’m waiting patiently for AF to arrive (but wishing it wouldn't). I had some cramping yesterday and thought it might be coming early, but no sign of it yet. I really don’t remember what is normal for me leading up to AF since I was on BC for three years. If it is not here by Friday, I may test, but it feels very unlikely at this point. I've definitely been reading into signs and paying attention to every little pain, twinge or waive of nausea way too much. It's like I have TTC-induced hypochondria (e.g. the fake UTI). I’m actually kind of excited for a new cycle to start and hoping I can better track my signs.

Hope everyone is doing well. Would love to get some great news from somebody soon!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Monkey, thanks for the kind words. What day are you on now? I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

NE, glad to hear that Byron has been stronger and showing positive signs. I'm hoping for a miracle for you! I was laughing when I saw your comment about you and your DH trying once the condoms run out! I was thinking to myself "get busy lady, use em all up!" :naughty: ha ha!!!! Yay for TTC next cycle! Once you start it does consume you but I think it is a good thing to be consumed with you know?

LC, did you get your OPK's in yet? How are you feeling?

Pumpkin, keep us posted on your RE appt. I hope you get some answers!

Ladyblue, sorry about AF showing up. The RE of a friend of mine recommended acupuncture. She did go onto have a baby via IVF. If anything, I think the acupuncture would be good for relaxation and help to find a balance in the body. Definitely can't hurt!

Browneyes, welcome!!!

AFM, I got another positive OPK this morning so hopefully O has happened or is approaching. We BD'd yesterday morning and yesterday night! Busy day! :naughty: And our plans are to BD tonight and tomorrow as well! My RE has advised me to start the progesterone suppositories three days after I get my first LH surge, so I will be starting them on Wednesday.

Hey ladies!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and thank you for making me feel so welcome.

NEL - we have a big black lab, he's about 3.5 years old. I'm happy to hear that Byron is showing some improvement and has his spirits up. It's also exciting that you will be officially TTC sooner than you thought.

MonkeyPrincess - I'm crossing my fingers that this was your month even if you don't think it was. What can I say, I'm an optimist :))

Lizzy - I hope your BD marathon pays off this month!

Pumpkin - hoping that your appointment goes well tomorrow.

AFM - I'm CD14 today. OPK was negative this morning, but hopefully I will get a smiley face soon. DH and I done the BD every 2 or 3 days leading up till now, so we're ready ;))

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hehe, I like the way you ladies think :wink2:

There are only three left in the box and we started the weekend with six, so they won't be lasting much longer! It's been sort of fun having a countdown...usually it's D who's always instigating, but with a goal in mind the tables have turned and it's been really funny. D said he should have thought of this months ago, bought a box from Costco and then encouraged me to accomplish my goal. Heh!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL: OMG Your DH is so funny!!! So he must be totally loving your "goal orientated" personality to get diminish your condom supply. Ha ha ha! I'm glad Byron is doing better and that his spirits are up. I'm hoping for a miracle for you guys too.

BE, sounds like you and your DH have been doing a pretty good "prep job" on this cycle. I'm hoping your O day will come soon.

Monkey, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Things are going to work out and think of this time as a "re-acquaintance" with your body sans HBC. I'm learning new things each cycle. And I'm with BE, an optimist.

Lizzy, Sweetie you and your DH have been busy. I hope you're enjoying yourselves. And sounds like your timing is really good so lots of happy thoughts for you and your DH.

Pumpkin, let us know how your endo-doc (endoc) appt goes. I think you said it was a regular endo, not an RE. Either way, at the very least you might get some answers about your thyroid condition (I think it was you that had one, right?)

So I ordered some of hte proper OPKs for this cycle. I'm feeling a lot better too. I got to go to the shower and see my pregnant friend and mama friend so it was a great weekend! DH and I BD yesterday AM but that's about it. We've been doing a once/week practice session. I suppose when I'm closer to O'ing I'll bump it up more. I suppose I can stop off and pick up some OPKs from the store when I'm waiting for my sister at th train. That way I can at least start testing. I'm going on a business trip Mar 29 & 30, which I'm hoping will not coincide with my O day. Hopefully it won't.

Other than that not much going on. CD14, expecting to O in 2 wks or so. FF averages my O out to CD36, min was 31. So going by history, I'd be around Apr 9 or so.

NEL - Your DH is too funny!

LC - I'm glad you're feeling better and got to go to the shower and everything this weekend. Also happy that you got the OPK stuff straightened out before your O day.

AFM - i got a BF :)) on my OPK today which must mean that I will be ovulating this month (and soon!). I was really worried about this for whatever reason which is why I was using the OPK's, but now I can rest easy and hopefully get KU sooner than I thought! Fingers crossed.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, it sounds like your O day will not overlap with your upcoming business trip, but I'll keep my fingers crossed, anyway. The thing is, I'm sure you'd be glad to O in March instead of April. I keep hoping your cycles will start getting a bit shorter for you!

Brown_eyes, isn't it sort of fun knowing you're ovulating after being on BC for so long? I remember being kind of excited about the fact that my body went back to doing what it was supposed to...I was nervous everything would be out of wack after coming off of BC. I'm glad you got your smiley!

So, I'm out of OPKs. I ran out last week (in fact, the last one I used looked positive, so it was a bad time to run out). I was going to order more, but I think that instead I'm going to hold off. I ordered them when I came off of BC to make sure I was ovulating and now I know I am, so their purpose has been served. For at least one month I want to be able to relax about it and not worry about whether we BDed at the right time. I'm sure if a month or two goes by with no success, I'll revert to my obsessive, we-need-to-do-this-perfectly self, but I'd rather start off just having fun. So for now I'm OPK-free and just wingin' it!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Brown, yay for a positive OPK! I was really relieved when I got mine earlier this month too. Good luck this month!

Lizzie, hope things worked out for you! I hope the progesterone does the trick, or at least gives you a little more peace this month.

LC, glad you are feeling better. I almost ordered the wrong clearblue easy set too  Hope your positive OPK lands on a good day for you!

NEL, have you finished the box yet? Just kidding. Your approach sounds good. I still feel a need to use the OPKs, but maybe after a couple cycles, I will be convinced things are working properly and stop.

PP, hope your appointment goes well. Let us know what you hear.

LB, sorry this month didn’t work out, but here’s to next month!

I am all but out this month. I had more cramping yesterday, and a little bit of brownish cm (TMI) last night and again this morning. I just want AF to hurry up and get here already, so I can start in on a new cycle!

Question: Did any of you have a shortish luteal phase after going off BC? Assuming I ovulated 1-2 days after + OPK, I am only 10 or 11 DPO. Not thrilled about the early brown cm.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, Wing-away!!! I think holding off on the OPK is a good move. Have fun and keep the pressure off. There's plenty of time for neurotic compulsive researching etc. I know that'll be me so I'm taking my time and smelling the roses.

BE, I'm glad you got the :)) and your body's doing its thing after coming off HBC. Every cycle is different so take the time and just kind of enjoy yourself.

Monkey, yes, I have a short LP after HBC. It's about 11 days for me too. Not sure what this means yet, but we'll see.

Yesterday I read the directions for CBE OPK and they seem really "high tech" for a stick you pee on. Ha ha. Anyway, my dad is in town staying with us for a week. I'm kinda in a weird place with my folks so we'll see how it goes. It wouldn't surprise me if I O late from the stress of having him visit, so we'll see. Not planning to use the OPKs until after I get back from my work trip.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi ladies!

LC, glad you got your OPKs! Sorry to hear your dads visit may cause you some stress. Good luck!

Monkey, have you tested at all? sometimes spotting is common after implantation.

Ne, I am so excited for you you to start TTC! It sounds like you have an idea around what day you usually ovulate so I think you will be fine without the opk's.

BE, yay for the positive OPK! Have fun BD'ing!

AFM, I have had three straight days of positive OPK's. The ones I use recommend to use first morning urine and the last three mornings have been positive. I called my RE because that is what happened to me last month and they found that I never ovulated. The LH surge lasted for three days because my body was surging to try to release an egg and never did. I am worried this month is repeating that. The nurse said that the doctor thought it could just be that I caught the LH on the upswing and downswing which is why I've tested positive for the last three days. They still want me to start the progesterone tomorrow morning. But they want me to go in for bloodwork on monday to check my progesterone to see if I truly did ovulate. When I saw the RE last month, she said that my ovaries did look like someone's with PCOS, but she said that all of my bloodwork was normal and that I had no symptoms for it. I hope that I don't have it. If I did, it would be a new problem - no ovulation. I'm trying to stay calm. I am hoping I don't get another positive tomorrow morning. Anyone have any experience with this?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, is this the same cycle where your RE didn't see a lead follicle and didn't think you'd ovulate? I thought she mentioned that you didn't ovulate last month and likely wouldn't ovulate this month, but to start the progesterone 3 days after the + OPK on your next cycle. If so, then it sounds like your lack of ovulation this month is in line with what the RE saw earlier this month...then again it sounds like your doc is suggesting you take the progesterone this cycle, so I could just be confused!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi NE, this month I was clear to TTC. When I saw the RE last month she determined that I did not ovulate last month based on no lead follicle. And that was the same cycle that I had three positive OPK's . So now that I have gotten three again this month, I am worried it may be repeating again. But there really is no way to tell if I've ovulated until I get that blood test on Monday. The RE still wants me to start the progesterone tomorrow because she is hoping that I tested positive for three days because I caught the upswing and downswing of LH, but who knows? One thing I hate is that I feel like I am always waiting for a test result. The joys of TTC I guess.

Lizzy - I'm sorry to hear about all of this. I'm hoping your doc is right about the upswing and downswing and that you actually are ovulating. I know it's hard to wait to take test after test. Hang in there.

Hi Girls,
I have been taking a break for a week or so. Feeling very discouraged right now. I am CD 15 and I will be having an IUI tomorrow. There is only an 8% chance that it will take but a girl can hope.

I hope everyone has been doing well!

Thanks Brown eyes, I am hoping for that too!

BB, why only an 8% chance? Is it due to the sperm issue or another issue? When would you be able to do IVF? Do you have to go thru so many rounds of IUI first? Sorry lady. I'm sure it sucks going in with such low chances. Stay positive though. A chance is still a chance you know?

Lizzy, I don't have any experience with OPKs, but I'm hoping you'll be OK this month. Hope the RE can give you some answers. Hang in there.

BB, Hugs my friend. Sorry you're feeling down, but who knows, right? This IUI gives you the opportunity to try with a little bit of help. WHo knows, maybe it'll be OK or maybe you guys will need more help. But it's a start. It's like adding salt to a dish, we can't go all balls out and start shaking away. Need to add a little bit at a time until it's just right. So take your time and enjoy the "taste" of the dish.

BB, good luck today. Crossing my fingers for you that you beat the odds. You just never know, so try not to be too discouraged.

Lizzy, hope your doctor is right about the OPKs. The directions on mine said there was no need to test again after seeing a positive. I did for the heck of it. But I'm guessing a lot of people don't keep checking it. Maybe it is not all that unusual?

LC, you have such a great attitude. You remind me of my husband. I tend to be more of a realist or worrier, but it is nice having people like you around to keep things in perspective.

No AF for me yet, and I think the light brown discharge and cramps seemed to have stopped. I'm either 11 or 12 dpo. I took a pregnancy test this morning with the free ones that came with my wondfo OPKs, and it was as negative as can be. I'll wait until this weekend to test again if AF is still a no-show. This is certainly teaching me patience.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BB - hold on to that hope! There's no way that I can say anything better than our TTC lady of positive thinking LC, but I believe that a chance is a chance.

MP - I'm new to all of this, but is there a possibility that your symptoms were in line with implantation?? The timeline seems to line up.

AFM - I found out today that my SIL is preggo! It's very early as from what I understand she just took the blood test yesterday, but I'm going to be an auntie!! My mom told me that the natural progression of things means that I am next to have a baby. It was so hard to keep from her that that news could be coming alot sooner than she thinks! I guess I'm officially at the beginning of my first 2WW and I'm starting to see how easy it is to get antsy. I'm hoping it flies by so that we can give it a go again, or share more good news with the family.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, thanks! I'm hoping I find out that I did ovulate when I do the blood work on Monday.

Monkey, sorry about the BFN, but I wouldn't give up hope yet. I still feel that spotting could have been from implantation. The whole OPK thing gets me all riled up! When I used them when i was trying to get pregnant with my son, I stopped after getting the first positive. I didn't even think about testing after that. So I truly have no idea what is "normal" for me in terms of how many positives I "normally" get? This time around while TTC for baby #2, the only reason I started testing after getting a positive is because I saw on this thread some ladies were doing that to better pinpoint O, so that's when I started doing it. I'm not sure if there really is a correlation between me getting three positives last month and not O'ing. There could be absolutely no correlation. But because I had three positives last month and didn't O, I am worried that I didn't O again this month because I also had three positives. But again they could be totally unrelated. :errrr: <=== That's my confused face!

Brown eyes, congrats on being an auntie! Hopefully, you'll have your own good news soon too!

Blackberry, any updates? How did the IUI go?

AFM, I am on CD17, 4 days past my first LH surge. I started the progesterone suppositories yesterday per my doctor's recommendation(three days after first LH surge). I am praying that I ovulated before this as the progesterone suppositories actually halt O from happening because it tells the body that O has already happened. So I am crossing my fingers. They don't want me to test till 15 days past O, but I don't know if I can wait that long. But first things first, blood work on Monday to be sure I did O.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

CD1 for me! Yay! Never thought I would be so happy to say that :) But based on the timing (15 days after +OPK), it seems that my body is figuring out what it needs to do again after BC. I'm excited for a new cycle, and it is actually probably better that I had a normal cycle before trying again.

Crossing my fingers for Brown, Lizzy, BB and anyone else who is waiting it out right now. Hope everyone else is well.

Monkey, Fantastic first cycle off HBC! Hope you're feeling good about getting used to your cycle sans hormones. Great job.

Lizzy, Hoping you'll be able to make it to more than 10 dpo to break down an test. I for one have zero patience so I'd be obsessive about it. Not very proud of that fact.

Brown, congrats to your SIL!Good luck on your 2WW! How cute you and your DH have a little secret between the two of you now. :)

Lizzy - Hang in there. I'll be thinking about you on Monday.

MP - yay for regular cycles after HBC!

LC - I hope your cycle starts to get shorter soon. I hope your dad's visit isnt too stressful on you.

AFM - I guess I'm 3DPO? That's with me counting 1DPO being the day after my positive OPK. I started this whole thing with a very laid back attitude, and the OPKs were really just to see if my body was working properly this first clycle off HBC. Unfortunately knowing that there's a chance that this could be our month (if we're lucky) is making it feel a little less laid back and a little more like I want this sooner rather than later. Knowing that my SIL and I could be going through this just weeks apart is also fun to think about. I'm trying not to get my hopes up as this is just our first month, but man is it hard!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy: There is only an 8% chance because of DH's sperm issue. I hope things are well with you this month and that everything works out!

LC:Thank you for the wise words. I found your thoughts very helpful!

MP: I am glad that you are feeling good about this new cycle. Fingers crossed!

BE: Sending dust your way! Try and keep busy in the meantime.

AFM:
To answer an earlier question, I don't want to go straight to IVF right now. I am not comfortable with the money and time it will take just yet. DH and I have decided to try our lower level options first and move up.

My IUI went well on Thursday. Since I am on a break from work, DH got to come with me for my procedure which was really nice. I am a little worried/excited today because I am having a little bit of bleeding. This could be from the procedure (although this one was much smoother than the last and I had no bleeding last time at all) or dare I hope, maybe implantation bleeding? Has anyone had implantation bleeding before? What does it look like? When did it occur in your cycle?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hey ladies! This is just kind of a fly-by, I spilled a drink and killed my old laptop, so I haven't been around! I've been thinking of all of you though! Now I have a new computer (yay pay day!) so I'm back!

AF showed up last weekend (*&^%@&!!!), so I'll be going back to the marathon next week sometime. It's fun, but I'd rather just be pregnant :) Three of my friends have announced pregnancies in the last week, so I'm extra frustrated but I have to believe it will happen at some point!! I'll be using OPKs religiously this month... hoped to try to "just have fun with it" for a little longer, but I have to make sure my body's doing what it should. If it is, and I can pinpoint prime time, and that doesn't work within a couple months... well, then we have a different story.

So at any rate, I'm pluggin' along! So glad to have you ladies to share the journey with. It's been a while since the last flood of BFPs (fabcrab seems to be flying solo here!), so hopefully we'll all be expecting little ones soon!

blackberry, wishing you all the sticky dust in the world for this cycle!!

Hi Katy, welcome back. I'm about a week behind you, and I know what you mean about needing the reassurance that your body is working the way it should. As much as I want to relax and have fun with it, if there is an issue, I want to know about it sooner rather than later. Crossing my fingers that this is your month.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Looking forward to news of some BFPs!
