Gemma, thanks for the reassurance! I am a relatively low risk case, but you know how it is when you want a baby SO badly and there is something that is completely out of your control ya know? I can''t do anything to help it except what I already do (no caffeine, don''t smoke, etc.). But I really appreciate the stats, lol. I love any stats that are manipulated into being in my favor.

Lisa, Olivia is GORGEOUS! I love her. I''d just like to throw out there that I will never get sick of pictures of her...so post away!

Well, I got the positive test I was hoping for!!!!! On day 14 post ovulation! It is only 4 am here(well, when I got up it was) and I can''t sleep anymore, lol. We decided not to tell anyone irl yet so I''m so glad you guys are here.
I am just crossing my fingers now and waiting!!!

Here''s something kind of weird- On Thursday night, while I was obssessing about being pregnant, I checked out the bbs to see if there were any changes. Well I noticed like three veins on my right bb where they have not been before- and it looked fuller. But only the right one. It is still like that- I hope the left one catches up, lol. Has anyone seen this before?

BTW Neatfreak, I called my OB yestreday to check in and see when she would do a blood test, what was next and I think I was happy with her response- she was gonna do a blood test on monday and then if it was neg, she was going to induce a period to get me back on track- I was glad that she sounded like she wanted to be proactive and it made me feel more comfortable knowing I just wouldn''t be waiting on my own. It''s irrelevant now but I was glad that I called.

Thanks everyone for your support- it is very much appreciated

Aww Lisa Thanks so much for the congrats- And your welcome for the compliments on your "seed"- that really stumped me for a sec. I know I feel like I don''t wanna leave this board, especially you- It was so great to have company during that dang tww. I am sure you will join that other thread too! I am glad to hear that you are going to the fertility specialist and I hope the process is smooth. Talk to you soon, and thanks for the info on the vein changes- I know it''s gonna be a bit scary but hopefully I am as ready as I can be. Just want to think positive and get to the next week, then next tri, etc.

Hi All! It''s fun to see a lot is happening on here
36.gif
Congratulations Neatfreak and Pave!! You''re both so close, in 9 months we''ll have another baby boom here on PS.

Lisa your girlie is so cute! I''m glad you posted some closer up photos of her. I can see some of the blue asain eyes, that''s so cool! My hubby is Chinese and I''m caucasian - a mix of a bunch of European. I also have some Scotch-Irish like you have. I have blue eyes and in my hubby''s line my FIL''s eyes are a gray/blue, so I''m thinking our kids have a small chance at light colored eyes. At this point, only time will tell. But today I''m going to pick up my last pack of birth control and I''m so excited it''s the last
3.gif

A couple weeks ago I was on an antibiotic that my doctor said could affect my BC. My hubby and I through caution to the wind though and he was sure he got me! haha! So I half way felt like I was on a TWW these past couple weeks, but no, nothing happened. Shucks!

Ouch, Amber, I hope your ankle is doing better!

Baby dust to everyone else trying. I can''t wait to join you all

Congratulations pavelover! Lots of sticky dust to you!

How exciting! Lots of new mommies-to-be!

NF, I''m the same age as you. Our age does work in our favor. I was very worried too in the beginning. As hard as it is, try not to worry! It''s not good for you and baby. Don''t read about m/c too much. Try to keep busy and your mind on other things. With each u/s and hearing my baby''s heartbeat, I worried less. Now at almost 15 weeks, I''m not worried much. Hang in there!

Lisa, your daughter is adorable!

Thanks Snlee! I know as soon as I have my first appointment and can detect a heartbeat I will already feel much better about it. When you know so early it is really hard to have to wait almost another month to have my first dr. appt! But I got into this supposedly fantastic OB/GYN (courtesy of my fab old dr. who is a nurse practitioner and thus doesn't have hospital privileges), so I am really excited and calm knowing that I am in good hands.

All I can do now is wait!!!

And PAVE, I know I said congrats in the other thread, but I also wanted to say that I am VERY glad to have someone so close to my DD. Will our due dates be the same because we O'd on the same day? Or different because I must have implanted on DPO 6 or 7 and you were at 14? I've got to learn how all that works in more detail...

NF, will your first appointment be around 8 weeks? You probably won't be able to hear the heartbeat that early but you may get an u/s depending on your doctor's office. I know the waiting is hard and unfortunately the pregnancy goes by so slow! My 1st tri seemed really long but it is a very exciting time! I can't wait to share this journey with you!

If you and pave had your last period (LMP) on the same date, you'll have the same EDD. The doctor offices still use a plastic wheel to determine your EDD from your LMP. They go by 28 day cycles, so it's a bit off if your cycles are longer or shorter.

Interesting...so will one of our due dates be quite a bit off in theory then since my little poppyseed has been developing for almost a week longer? Or has it not been developing any faster? Weird.

The way the scheduling worked with the visit my first appt will be at the very end of my 8th week (counting from my O date, if I am counting from my LMP it would be end of my 9th week because my cycles are weird). I'm really hoping they will do an u/s to check, it would just make me feel so much better! My insurance is amazing and my dealings so far with them makes it appear that it doesn't seem too difficult to make them do the things you want.

Conception has to occur within 24 hours of ovulation, or the egg is no longer viable. It can then take 7-12 days or so for implantation to occur. So if you two did ovulate on the same day, then you must have conceived within the same 24 hours (I think 24 hours is the max, it is usually sooner). It just might have taken longer for one to implant, which is why you got a positive hpt sooner than pave did. But I think that means the EDD is the same still. (which I think is fun, shouldn''t it be around Christmas or so?)
Doctors estimate based on your last menstrual period, and assume a 28 day cycle. Some women know when they ovulate and some don''t. (Most of us do, because we are trying and charting.)

Sunkist very lovely comments on the girlie. I''m half-Korean & half-Russian, Hubby''s Irish-Scottish.
My gandfather on dads side had blue eyes - it skipped 2 generations! I must carry the recessive gene.

Snlee also thank you for the compliments. And to think I want to do his again so fast (she''s 1).
But time is not on my side at 39!

Lili so nice of you to ask to see her eyes, they are wild - everyone at the hosp. said they would change but they were marine blue
when she came out.

Neatfreak and Pave - the whole EDD can be a difficult thing to pin down (o''ing and such as already mentioned by Tiffany and Snlee).
But it is a very important aspect in the pregnancy as a whole. As an advanced maternal age preggo I had level 2 ultrasounds where they measure the cranium and thigh bone especially to determine EDD. The 12 wk ultrasound or earlier ones are better predictors of EDD apparently b/c fetuses measurements can change dramatically w/ time from pregnancy to pregnancy.

You probably already know this but a fraction of women deliver on their EDD - 5%???

And doctors actually use the antiquated "Estimated Date of CONFINEMENT" phrase in their notes still. I guess you are sorta confined.
2.gif

I went over 40 wks! There can be problems w/ this so we had an induction - Olivia just didn''t want to come out!

I don''t know why people say 9 months - It''s 10 months!!!! 40 long, amazing weeks.

BTW: the OPK stick was faint today - huh, I''m on day 6 past AF? Maybe I O on day 8 if my cycle is 22 days then subtract the 14.

Rest you guys. Oh and how did you tell the husbands??????

A very small % of first time moms go early as well so you might as well plan on being late. Most of us on the preggo board were.

Hi and I wanted to thank everyone for all of your good wishes!!! Thanks to qtieeki, snlee, sunkist, tacori, lili- it is so awesome to have your good vibes!

Neatfreak I think it will be fun to have you on the same schedule- and with you ahead of me I will be able to hear your experience before it is my turn- I am not sure about the dates of lmp, or ovulation and how it will effect our due dates- It seems to make sense that we conceived at the same time even though we had different implantation times(or at least I think we did). Thanks tiffany, lisa and snlee and tacori for chiming in.

I am excited about the future but a bit afraid to let myself go there yet if that makes sense? I believe that I am supposed to see my Dr. at 6 weeks since I had an m/c before- I know she has the transvaginal u/s in her office- I wonder if she will use it and what she could see so early?

Ladies, did you continue to take hpt after you got your bfp? I took one today that was not digital- yesterday was digital- and somehow I thought the line would be darker- it was very visible but not as dark as the control line- I think the opk tests got me mixed up cause it really did get as dark as the contol line. j
Also, did you all get a blood test to confirm?

Ok well thanks for listening. Have to go get ready for work.!Yeah! (that is reverse psycology cause I do not want to go,lol).

Hey Pave, don''t worry I am cautious too! I don''t get to go to the Dr. until the very end of May due to scheduling, so it is really hard to wait. You''ll have to let me know how yours goes first!

As for the HPT, yes I still took a few after to make sure it wasn''t a fluke. It''s a cheap thrill, what can I say.

You guys are going to make the best moms!

So conscientious and roaring to go!

I can''t tell u how many preggos I have encountered who barely noticed they skipped AF until 24 wks into the pregnancy.

Talked to the Gymboree teacher yest. who is 26 wks and has yet to see a DR. (insurance issues notwithstanding). And she just figured it out.

So you are way ahead of the curve - good for you.

Pave, at 7 or so wks they can detect a heart beat w/ TV/US and this confirms viability. You will also see the yolk sak - cool.

Bloodwork is totally definitive. It can also indicate how far you are.

NF lol "a cheap thrill" I even considered saving mine - Tacori- did u save yours? I thought I read that somewhere.

HOW DID YOU TELL THE HUBBYS??????

Lisa I saved my ept (which is kind of gross now that I think of it). The digi I threw away since the message disappears after an hour or so anyways. I did take a picture (yes I am a nerd). I didn''t have a cute way I told my DH. Wish I did but I just said that I *think* I might have seen a line but wasn''t sure. We was there when I took my next 3 tests (in a row!). He was speechless. We both started laughing (slightly manically) and then I started crying. For our families we e-mailed them the photo of the positive tests.

OK I am coming out of the TTC closet now because I have questions for you all!

This is our first month TTC, after much confusion and agonizing over the last 6 months we decided to throw all of our worries to the wind and go for it! Now that the decision is made, of course, we are super excited with a little (a lot!) of
32.gif
thrown in to the mix.

My first cycle off the pill was 31 days, which seems to match my recollection from when I was off the pill for 3 years in my early 20s. I was always very regular and haven''t had any issues with my period in the past, always had little cramping and a moderate to light period, so I''m hoping this bodes well for my fertility! I also have many other physical characteristics associated with fertile hormones (waist-to-hip ratio etc) so I am hopful! Though of course I worry, I guess we all do?? I''m 30 now (as of this month!
5.gif
). Although I wasn''t monitoring I did noticed 2 days of EWCF in that first cycle.

This cycle I only monitored CF and my cervix, didn''t get the temping started yet. We were on vacation during my fertile time so we BD''d everyday from CD-10 to CD-18! haha...
31.gif
Hubby was very happy about that since that''s about 2 months worth of sex given our usual habits
2.gif
! I had watery CF on CDs-13 & 14 and EWCF on CD-15, 16 & 17. On CD 16 my cervix was also really high and open and soft so we BD''d twice that day
20.gif
. Anyways, I think we did everything we could
2.gif
, now time will tell.

My CF dried up very quickly on CD-18, though we BD''d that day just in case (THAT was fun
20.gif
), but this makes me think I O''d on CD-16 or CD-17, which makes sense if I have a 31 day cycle (CD-17 + 14 = 31). So I am now on CD-26, which is 9 or 10 DPO. And I am going mental
3.gif
. I have avoided the tests because I wanted to wait as long as possible, but I am not sure I can hold out much longer.

So my Q is what test do I buy? I looked on www.peeonastick.com, but can''t really make any sense of it. I think I will do the first test in the morning (I know, first pee is best... I read this whole thread right from the start! I feel like I know you all already)... Suggestions??

DD

Lisa: your daughter is a cutie pie for sure! And the pic in my avatar is my ring in an icecube tray in our freezer... just a regular pic though, the lighting just went that way. I think it''s pretty neato.

The digital ones are the easiest to read, but if you are going to be testing all the time they can be quite expensive. I got a bunch of cheapy ones from early-pregnancy-tests.com. They were great, I got a BFP on I think 8DPO, which I then confirmed with a less sensitive digital test a few days later. And you can''t beat the price!
