I'm about 90% sure I will choose the "jellybean" as someone called it, and it really does resemble a jellybean, lol. It showed off a little in the sun this afternoon, lol. I'm still gonna search a little more, not in a huge hurry. I really appreciate all the feedback and useful advice!

The oval looks great on your hand, but I'm not a big fan of either of those ovals. I know it can be hard to find a great oval, but I'm not in love with the facet pattern on either one.

I agree this one isn't the one.

Do you think maybe you need to have the stone set to decide?? I still think there might be a better one out there. Is there a reason you are limiting yourself to IF?

She isn't limiting herself, she's open to anything in budget. Problem is we've all looked and there is nothing in budget that performs as well, has no bowtie, and is the same size or larger (in spread, not carats).

When yoou first brought out the oval I said oval. But now that their is a round involved I tend to sway toward old faithful and never go out of style round.

The 2nd oval came today! JA has some fast shipping! I'll let you judge for yourself, but I think the 1st oval appeals more to my eye. The 2nd one has a slight bowtie (which is fine), and it's warmer. I called JA and found out their cut grades (proportionally only since GIA doesn't grade fancies on their cut). The 1st is ideal, proportionally, and the 2nd is Very Good. Here are some pics:

:wavey: hi there! I'm biased because I love ovals, so I voted oval! I like both of the ones you bought, but I think size wise the first one is nicer. Good luck choosing!

I like the jellybean better. Too much bowtie for me.

I think there are a few worth getting more info.

I have been favoring the oval because they are beautiful but after the 2nd video I voted for the brilliant cut.. it just has more pizzaz - to me.. please get what you want... it's your beautiful ring, and frankly both stones are stunners.

I'm a fan of this one just from the video.

I know. I'veseeb it for a few weeks and no one ever snatches it up.

I posted that one. But it's a mm shorter than hers, and one mm fatter. Not much of a gain over what she has now. She was hoping for same length but more chubby.

Yes, exactly. I'm definitely not limited to IF. My previous ring was SI1. Like you said, it's hard to find one that doesn't have a bold bowtie. I'm feeling sad and annoyed with myself tonight. How could I be so stupid to lose something that meant so much to me? Now, 3 years after upgrading, I'm downgrading to a smaller diamond. I'm at the point of not caring because it won't have sentimental value, and will be a constant reminder of my carelessness.

I ended up choosing the oval, in a 1.7 mm 3/8 (almost full eternity/30 stones) shared prong setting from Jared. None of the pave settings were right for me from JA. I have an independent GIA trained appraiser looking at it on Friday. I'm happy with my decision. I will share pics soon!

Thank you! I will definitely come back to share pics, if the appraisal goes well. I'm pretty certain it will, since GIA graded it. :)

Ok, as promised..pics!! I had it appraised by an independent GIA certified appraiser Friday, and got great feedback. The diamond matched the GIA report, and she said it had a lot of brilliance and in her words, the diamond is "awesome." I really like how it turned out. I had it set in a 1.8mm 1/3 shared prong semi mount. It's an eternity (small space for resizing). More pics in next post!

it's GORGEOUS! Don't get upset when people don't comment right away. There are TONS of lurkers on this site, and they don't always post.
