I got home from a very sad trip to find these 7-7.5mm exotic metallics waiting for me.

I asked for a dark strand with plenty of purples. It's 17 inches. Jeremy kindly included the P charm for me at my request--it's a letter with significance for me.

To me, the general feeling of the colors is not that different from the usual freshwater colors, although the colors of some individual pearls are wonderfully strange. But the surface really does have that extraordinary metallic finish, and some of the overtones or iridescent colors are just astonishing. And they're perfectly round.

The colors in this shot are yellower on my screen than real life, but the luster shows up well.

Here they are with my akoyas, which are the same size but look a little bigger (because they''re white, I assume).

Okay, so my akoyas aren''t the best quality akoyas. But the exotics blow them away.

I don''t have any round non-exotic multicolor freshwater pearls to compare them to, but here they are with a tin-cup necklace that has some quite nice quality baroque multicolor freshies. The metallic surface of the PP ones is quite noticeably better.

I wish someone would post a comparison shot with PP''s multicolor freshadamas.

The surface on these pearls really is extraordinary. I only wish I could see them when I''m wearing them. I may have to get the bracelet too. I love all the subtle colors. I can''t get the camera to see what I see. There''s an amazing copper one, and a sky blue one (in some lights, anyway), and some pinks with green sheen, and some bronzy ones...
