DH and I are so upset. Today I was loading the dishwasher and I heard our Lhasa Apso, Mazie, woof at my daughter''s Lab. Then all hell broke loose. The lab attacked Mazie. Next thing I know I turned around and there was my Mazie covered in blood, blood all over the floor in a matter of seconds. Her eye was hanging out of the socket. I yelled, picked her up and called our vet.
I rushed her there and he and his staff were waiting for me. He came out in a little bit and told me her eye could not be saved and Rick and I would have to take her to UC Davis to the specialist there. I could not stop crying. My poor little Mazie.
He wrapped her up and put a cone around her neck. He gave her a few shots of antibiotics and a sedative shot. It started bleeding again and we rushed her up to UC Davis, where they will do surgery on her tomorrow morning at 8:00.am and will keep her until Saturday.
The doctor is so nice, but said she may be blind in her other eye too, due to the trauma. She isn''t sure though, but will wait and see.
My daughter is living with us now, with my two grandsons as she is going through a divorce, but my husband said, the two Lab''s have got to go. He doesn''t want to take another chance of either one of them hurting Mazie again. My daughter is upset that her dogs will have to leave, but there is no other choice.
I feel so bad for Mazie, with having one eye now. My heart is just breaking.
Thank you for reading my post.
