A close up of the six button/rosette tiara without the diamond base. You can see how the base can be attached on the frame - usually with little screws. Most royal jewelry is totally rearrangeable this way. Makes it very confusing for people like me who like to keep track of the history of these pieces. Never sure if it is something new or just something remodeled.

Lady, I have a quick question... are you interested in only current royals? The reason I''m asking is that I was recently reading a book regarding Indian royalty, and I can only assume that some of their descendants must have some great jewelry! I guess since they aren''t techinally in power, there would be a lack of press.

I''ll post some pictures when I come across them. I really don''t know anything about the history or provenance of any of the jewelry though! |

I rarely see anything about the Indian nobility or royals. Sorry. Actually I am more interested in the royal houses historically but in terms of jewelry it''s fun to post the pictures of the current royals. It''s harder to find any good historical/old photos of royals online. I do have some though & will post them eventually. |

There was a banquet in Oslo for the Nobel Prizes but Mette-Marit wore a plain black dress and very small diamond hoop earrings. And that was it. Arrrggghh! Won''t someone give that girl some good jewelry??
So it''s back to Sweden.... Queen Silvia, a good look at just how massive those earrings are!
