I did not find this haul- this haul found me. I had an aunt, now deceased, who was a bit of a hoarder, and enjoyed the many Sun City, AZ rummage sales for years. She had three sons, only one was married, and that wife does not fancy costume jewelry. So after her death, boxes of items were sent to my mother (her sister) and I was allowed to gather what I liked before the rest was donated to the church rummage sale. Most of it was crappy gold-colored base metal. But, I did manage to find these:

F&B Sterling chain and Sterling Krementz lorgnette folding glasses

Pennino rhinestone suite

Regency crystal necklace and earrings (not signed, but notes left by Aunt)

Trifari leaf pin, Florenzo earrings, illegibly stamped hummingbird pin, roadrunner pin, and a brass(?) and purple glass(?) bar pin

I agree, there are so many beautiful brooches out there, it is a shame they are not worn much. I have worn or loaned to family members, a few of my large rhinestone ones for family weddings. They go a long way to revving up a plain dress worn at the shoulder or waist. When one of my daughters got married 8 years ago, I scrubbed rummage/estate sales for a year for anything pretty and inexpensive and made her a brooch bouquet that she carried down the isle. It took about 50 of them and it was heavy, but I hope my other daughter will want to use it as well when it is her time.

So lovely! I particularly love the blue crystal pieces, the starburst brooch, and the rhinestone bird brooch. I'd wear any of these pieces, anytime! :kiss2:

Thank you! I have not worn the blue crystal necklace yet, but will when it is suitable. The clasp really is what got me, and I plan on wearing it in front, off to one side.

Today I found a yellow Wedgwood Jasperware ashtray!
This is the first yellow piece I have ever found.
Thrift store $1.00! It is from the 1970s.

Such a pretty thing to do a stinky job
Perhaps one day humankind will look back at ashtrays and not know what they were used for

Haha! Right! Maybe cigarettes are going out of style.
I can't imagine grinding out a cigarette butt in this pretty dish.

I read once Princes Margaret in her youth (although probably already a smoker) was at someone's house and they had a souvenir ashtray of King George and Queen Mary
And she said
i hope you are not going to stub your cigarette out on my grandparents

So i had had had to finally get to the jewler today to pick up my repairs so i got brave and walked through town
First block had the salvation army

It looked safe although i had to keep moving to keep away from people

O oh
Someone was calling my name
I just couldn't leave her there
Its just one of those Franklyn mint ones you see advertised in woman's mags
She was $6
I know she's not worth anything but i couldn't leave her there all unloved

Thank you
year we call the desert course pudding
What's for pudding mum?
When we grew up we had pudding most nights

Rhubard and custard, please, just a touch of cream if you must!

Summer pudding is a fave as well but no redcurrants here. Blackcurrents thin on the ground here too! Forget the white ones! They're only a memory now.

Gooseberry fool is a classic; when summer comes I'll indulge again!

And Eton Mess is easy and pretty, don't you think?

Yum
Ive never had Eton mess ...ive seen it on TV
We just make pavalova here - i like it with strawberries, kiwifruit and blueberries but i recently fell in love with pomigranit - its so jewel like

Have not had a white current in 30 years
So delicouse
The wild goseberries all got this thing called American mildew about 30 years ago here so they all pretty much died out, the red ones especially were very yummy

Its the Autumn here now, 2 years into the pandemic and no one to pick the kiwifruit harvest
They are offering up to $60 /h to pick it in places so kiwifruit is going to be exspensive this winter

I do have good rhubarb in the garden
Ill make apple rhuburb crumble soon
Looking forward to a persimmon off our young tree - we got 3 last year - but its been so dry im not sure we will be that lucky this year

I do like that English pud where you boil up cream and sugar and lemon
Yum yum ! Lemon posset - i think that would be my favourite British food and we have a huge lemon tree as tall as our house and that pudding is so easy to make - i make it when i forget i have a bottle of cream in the fridge and its about to expire
Now that would be nice with red currents!
....or kiwifruit

Please excuse selling
And foray into pudding and fruits
Now im hungry !

I might have grossly ovepaid for all my mall jewlery
But i got a bargain on that Di plate
I do feel bad that this one is still in its packaging, never been on a wall or in a stand to be enjoyed
I mean did people used to think those Franklyn mint 'limited number editions' of about 10,000 odd would be worth something one day :(2

I found this English transferware covered dish at the thrift store last week. It dates 1891-1914. I couldn't leave it there, all alone and unloved! I appreciate the back stamp designs too.

And today I found this gorgeous blue cake stand. It is marked Effetre Murano. The blue color is ethereal.

At the same shop, I got this oval photograph of a young girl in a decorative frame with a loop for hanging. I opened up the back and it's an original unmarked photo from 1900 or so. Who was she? Something to think about!

Today there was an estate sale in the neighborhood. I found this sterling creamer and sugar. The makers mark dates them to the 1940s-50s.
Estate sales frequently overlook sterling marks, yay!
Here are two photos, before and after the polishing.
