Square bezels seem to be a speciality of custom made and designer rings, as far as I know. There are a couple of designs shown on clay-pot.com that I remember of, and then it''s down to looking over designers'' sites for the once-in-a-while example.

If you like the sport, there are a few dozen names to go through starting HERE

Barbara Heinrich and Jörg Mayer-Lutz may have some modern style examples... (see aaronfaber.com and their sites).

You will find a few nice ideas I bet, but this still sounds like a custom piece in the making to me

Valaria you are a wealth of pics.

This ring is not custom made. It can be had cheaply

Crazy ? The site (link) is well worth browsing, IMO.

And one more of the minimalist sort by Linda Penwarden...

With 2 carats in mind, finding a good idea to keep the ring from being too bulky will require some investigation.
The Lucida bezel is a good idea and any other styles with an open gallery:

The 1st one is too big to be an attachment and takes too long for those on dial up so it''ll be a link.

You could have a band on either side with bezel set saphires?

(right click on images to find the links to their source)

Sapphires... you could reverse colors (center to diamond, sides to blue) on something like this:

I wonder why that one is a gif.

Valeria, you know I check the source of every page you link from and bookmark them and hunt through them for web-site ideas. It is amazing how differently people do their pictures.

You really have an appreciation of design

That is a very nice thing to say....

Do you think the tilted square model could be done with a 2 carat and not a ton of metal to go with it ?

No,

You'd need to change it a lot.

These are from dimendscaasi.com. Not princess sidestones, but you get the idea.

One thing i did not think about was that the diamond is covered on all sides...from the top i love them but not from the side....I wonder if its even possible to only have the top sides of the diamond "bezzeled" and not the rest??? am i nuts yet????? valeria, I LOVE LEON!!!!!!!!!and that emerald of course!

Nope. Tiffany's Lucida bezel is that way, and there is a three stone version as well - only theirs has the center stone set in prongs.

And there is this one out there as well:

I have a few photos that don''t really relate. I will add them anyway as they show how the stone can be set away from the band. All of these are plat and set using traditional hand-setting methods.

I like the round design here best because it has been pressed and not cast to it has the qualities of handmade jewellery, but with extra precision.

Unfortunately pressed bezel settings for princess cuts are rare.

Long live the art of the die-sinker
