What kind of pizza do you like?

I'll go with what's available for delivery to my home, since that's what I usually get. I like Pizza Hut pan pizza with mushrooms and black olives.

Pizza Margherita like I had in Italy.
Grandma's made from scratch southern Italian style pizza where each slice weighed about 2 lbs.
Crispy crust; crispy pepperoni
Thick or thin crust, either is great as long as it has a nice crisp on the edge.

I like my homemade pizza, I make a mean Margherita pizza with 4 different kinds of cheese and I like mine with green olives on it...and I also found a great recipe for chicken bacon ranch pizza...and course the regular pizza I like mine with pepperoni, onion and sausage...we seldom order pizza out our little village does not have a great pizza selection....

I like so many varieties, and I think that’s my favorite thing about pizza. I never tire of it.

From thin cracker crust, to deep dish Chicago style, to dirty-good Dominoes, to fancy schmancy Italian pizza made in a true brick oven, to thick Detroit style squares and massive, foldable NYC style triangles…

if I had to choose toppings, these are my faves (not all on one pie):

pepperoni
Salami
pineapple
Spinach
Garlic
Chili oil

One of the best combos I’ve had was brick oven made thin pie, crispy thin crust with salami, whipped ricotta and drizzled with honey and chili oil, I died and went to heaven

Hunting for my favorite pie was truly a pastime
I practically lived off pizza (I was a broke artist)

Half of my family is from the Bronx. The other half is from Brooklyn and I have lived in NYC all my life. There is nothing like NYC pizza!

Chain pizzas are not my preference, though I will always eat it if it is in front of me. I do love pineapple on pizza but only on a very specific deep dish pan pizza from one pizzeria in the Bronx. I would LOVE to go to Chicago for real Chicago style pizza. As an Italian American, it is a shame I have not been to Italy for real pizza like the rest of my family.

The pizzeria closest to me has been excellent lately and everyone in my household is thrilled about this. Damn, now I am thinking of all the good pizza places in the boros and even Yonkers! The craving is getting to real right now so I'm gonna go grade some assignments.

We take pizza seriously by me (Long Island). My favorite local pie is a thin sicilian style. They use vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh garlic, fresh basil. It's so so so good.

We also make pretty good pizza at home! Fresh dough, oven as hot as it will get, pizza stone, peel, the whole deal! We use any and all toppings at home. Pesto and garlic abound!

I'm going to keep adding, I LOVE a "white pie", all the cheeses, garlic, salt, YUM.

I make a burrata pie at home with truffle oil and prosciutto, drool!

I had a delicious potato and chicken pizza a long time ago that was unforgettable. I think having had pizza in Italy ruined me for anything other than the freshest and simplest ingredients. Even the best of NYC's pizza, while delicious, doesn't measure up imo.

- thin crust, red sauce, mushrooms, black olives, green olives, arugula and sometimes sliced pickles

- or prosciutto, pineapples and anchovies, peppers, mushrooms, onions, broccoli

I usually order a personal pizza since no one will eat with me lol

Due to allergies and preference....
med crust, light sauce,2x sausage and a ton of stringy cheese.
No garlic applied to the crust. I'm allergic/intolerant to garlic but can eat small amounts.

Can tolerate papa johns because that is what my wifey likes. It needs about 4x more cheese added to be good to me.

I can imagine, honestly.

After going to Mexico, no tacos or mole have held a candle to anything I have eaten in the states before or since!

I’m sure many travelers have similar stories.

Homemade is best! Homemade thick crust, sauce simmered to perfection, fresh picked basil, fresh mozzarella, slices of smoked mozzarella, grated parmesan, grated romano, grated mozzarella, fresh sliced tomatoes, chunks of pineapple. Cooked until bubbly and ever so slightly toasted cheese with a crispy bottom on the crust. Mmmmmm......

Second best is a small family owned restaurant in the area. Now an hour from our home. Yes, I will drive an hour for their pizza! Pineapple and fresh tomatoes on a delicious thick crust with just the right amount of yummy sauce. (Added benefit is the best salads too. I grab one to have for lunches the next few days.)

Gooey, cheesy pizza with crisp pepperoni. There's a place near Wall St with perfect, heavenly pepperoni pizza - the pepperoni is small but mighty! Add to that fresh mushrooms, bell pepper, sausage, basil, even artichokes and I'm super happy!

When DD lived in midtown NYC, there was a Valentine's Day that was the coldest on record. Mayor said to stay inside. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to get pizza.

i dispise olives
i have once had a pizza in a real Italian place and not only was it to die for it was so far from what we call a pizza here no wonder Nonnas are turning in their graves
beleave me pinnaple is the least of the problem
the worst thing is the dominos one with the wedges - Mr Wedge

we just pile on so much stuff it just all meshes together and just tastes like pizza hutt or Dominos - i used to order us a veg pizza with extra pepperoni no olives no anchovies
i like the seafood ones but Gary does not
he likes anchovies so we have to compromise
we both enjoy heat

nowdays if we order a home delivery we get Hell pizzas - a brand that started attached to a sqush (racket ball) club in Wellington
they specialise in hot and very hot pizzas (i love their sides)
we get thin stretched and then their equivalent of a supreme with some heat added
i must say i like the Pizza Hutt NY stretched ones with pepperoni

the best place we used to go was a bar in Petone (Wellington) the Fireman's arms, it had a fireman theme and had memorabilia from all over the world and most of the pizzas were very hot and cooked in one of those (then new to us) real fire ovens
saddly its gone now
We used to get this thin crust very hot pizza with banana and avo with a scoop of sour cream and corn chips in the middle
i think it was pepperoni? maybe bacon too
it sounds weird but it was so delicouse
in the end it was the only pizza we got in Wellington
always dined in (or out the back in the beer garden) with a cold beer

This question is bittersweet for me. I love pizza. But cannot have it.
Gluten, dairy, soy, tomatoes-all a no no for me. So I haven't even tried gluten free pizza because what good is pizza without the cheese (cannot do soy cheese), the bread (gluten free isn't the same) or the tomatoes?

But, when I could eat pizza oh I adored pizza with a thin crust (just the right amount doughy and crispy), good amount of cheese and tomato and that was it. The perfect pizza. I am a purist and did not want additional toppings on my pizza, no thanks. Just give it to me straight.

When I was able to eat pizza the best pizza I ever had was at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn Heights.
Second best was John's on Bleeker Street in Manhattan.
