Oh good, I hope you really like it. It's cool, and I wish we knew the 'story' because it obviously has one!

It’s here! I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised at how nice this diamond is, it has definite personality and it shimmers despite being so small. It likes to reflect color, in the second picture it was reflecting my pink phone case. The last one was taken in very low light so

The rings themselves are tiny tiny 5 1/2, my initial plan was to scrap the setting and band but they are rather nice and weighty at 4 1/2 grams.

I tried to take really good
pictures for you guys. We are having a major snowstorm here so I can’t get any outside shots.

Oh wow how pretty! I responded to your idea settings not realizing the thread was older and that you just got the rings. THey are pretty and the gold is such a pretty YG too.

@Rfisher and @lovedogs, I’m pretty sure she has a black phone case and that wasn’t helping the diamond to look it’s best in pictures.

@nala its cute right? My only worry with resizing is it would have to go up quite a bit but you’re right I don’t have a yellow gold set. I’m still picturing this with a halo, like pink spinels or sapphires.

@Mreader, hey no worries I might reset it at some point so any setting ideas are welcome :)

Yay, it is cool. I love the uniqueness of that stone. It's yours and your alone. How awesome is that? I knew it would be! Can you see any kozibe?
I actually really like the echo geometry going on in the bands.
Sometime soon after the storms I'd like to see some sun shots

Also going off what @stracci2000 says, sometimes I wish that PSers would be less discreet about revealing the cost of their settings . I totally understand why they wouldn't want to reveal prices, but often I am quite curious to know so that I might know what to expect if I go to a particular designer. I had an idea to set some cheapie stones, and the quote I got was close to 1500 for 10k gold. Yikes! A couple of years back I put some tourmalines in a pendant and my local person charged $600 for a heavy 14k setting. So it can be wildly different...

Wow! I have never seen a ring quite like this before.
@YadaYadaYada , it's really nice!
You totally have a rare talent for finding fabulous diamonds!
I bet this stone was harvested from a gorgeous antique!

Yes......why the secrecy?
Just tell us what David Klass charges.

@ItsMainelyYou, sun shots for you if it ever comes back! I don’t see any kozibe, not sure if that is because it is too small or what. It is very white though and that’s always good ;-)

@Mreader, I agree that it is frustrating not knowing what to expect with a custom project, that’s why I avoid at all costs.

@stracci2000, thanks friend, you know I love to show you guys neat things when I can. I would love to know the story behind it!

@maita13 thank you so much :)

Yes! I'm always too intimidated to enquire because I assume it's going to be too much.

I can tell you that from DK I got a quote for 1500 for a platinum setting, which I thought was very reasonable. I'm not able to do it at this time so it's for a future project and I never got drawings or anything; just the quote. So when I had this idea for using my cheaper stones to make a simpler ring, I was really surprised when the quote was the same (it was the same that I was talking about above with 10k gold). When I asked him (as delicate in a manner as possible) why a 10k gold would cost so much more, he said it's because of the custom work part. He said if I looked at his IG and saw a design that my stones might work with, then it would cost less bc the design is already made. I guess the design idea I was sending him was a "start from scratch" scenario. But even with the platinum one, I hadn't chosen a pre-made design. So perhaps it was similar to something else he already made? I don't know. I hope that can be helpful!

Thanks @Ibrakeforpossums, I would love to meet the prior owner. I picture him or her as cool with a definite edge and style!

@Bluemuse, it is really neat, for a small stone it is quite entertaining :)

This is such a cool diamond it’s a antique French cut or Perruzi cut. You have a gift for finding beautiful and unique things.
