Transitional cut diamond?

I can’t tell of it’s the lighting but I feel like it’s too dark and not the right pattern. Sorry Lovedogs, this is probably so frustrating. Interested to see what Dreamer thinks.

hahaha yeah it's insanely frustrating. Especially because so many pictures are hard to parse.

I agree unfortunately. I’d need to see more photos to know for sure (like a hand shot from a few feet away is often helpful to show edge to edge brightness or lack thereof), but the large table and short lower halves make very larg facets under the table that look like they will go dark all at once too often.

These are the MOST rare variety of old cuts! They were only cut for a few decades and many were recut to MEBs.

These (perhaps posted before) may be worth me ordering and seeing IRL. Both have good return policies.

I think the first one looks more promising than the second.

Did a quick search, still looking, not sure if you’ve seen this one? You would have to get a better picture of the center and it is final sale:

Also check out this seller;

I love that etsy seller! He has 2 in his shop that I really like and I think have potential

I still love the little .54 guy from Wilshire(that's the second of your latest that I showed way up thread), I dunno, it's just cute.

Me too. It's one I keep going back to

Do you have maybe a top 5 list from everything posted in this thread? Maybe if you make a list you will find the one that is a definite yes.

Good idea. Otherwise you risk them being sold and missing out on one you would want.

Good point @YadaYadaYada @Lookinagain

Two Favorites out of budget (around 4k, which is much harder to justify)

My favourites are budget 5 and the overbudget boys!

So I’m not trying to make this even more difficult, wasn’t going to share this one because I thought it might be over your budget AND it’s an auction with 6 days. However I know PS’ers who swipe auctions at the last second that nobody else has bid on and get amazing pieces.

Just found this last night, if you’re considering spending 4k the size of the main diamond here might justify the spend if you like the look of the faceting. It also says best offer and returns accepted so that might be an option rather than waiting 6 days.

I've seen that one before on ebay and do love it. It's just so pretty!

It’s also large for a transitional, it’s really hard to find them in a bigger size. Something to consider anyways.

Yup, good point. I'm going to ask for more pics

Good thing you asked for pictures! Do you think it’s dirty or what?

Not a fan myself, sorry to be a Debbie downer.
