Hi guys,

I am getting a pretty spinel from Dan. I''ve scoured LOGR and have decided that these three settings are the finalists. Which do you think will look best? [Or if you have other suggestions, let me know!!) :)

Stone info:

STONE: Spinel
WEIGHT: 1.34 Cts.
CUT: Modified Brilliant Oval
DIMENSIONS: 5.80 X 8.10 mm
ORIGIN: Tanzania
COLOR: Very Slightly Grayish Blue-Purple
CLARITY: Very Good++ (Eye Clean, Nearly Flawless)

COMMENTS: This spinel is a very pretty bluish purple color in daylight shifting to a more of just a medium purple under incandescent light.

I think I''d go for the split shank!

I looked at these three in the fall as possible settings for my green tourmaline. I think I like the second one the best with the split shank, my second choice would be the first setting you posted. They're all pretty and your spinel will look great in any of the LOGR settings.

#1 - I''ve been in love with that setting for a long time. Just waiting for a reason to get it!

it''s funny that no one has chosen 3 yet, because that was originally my first choice! :)

I''m not going to be of much help here as I like both #1 and #2. Looking at your other rings, do you have any that are similar to either one? Then you might want to go for the other. Then again, once some people find a style they like they get one in every color.

I like number 2 though 3 is also pretty if you wanted a solitare.

Beautiful stone karee! I love #3, and actually ordered it with a yellow gold head and white gold shank. I ended up returning it because the single cuts were too cloudy for my taste. I wouldn''t have any problem getting that setting again, as long as the diamonds were upgraded. But keep in mind, if you upgrade the diamonds, they will be full cuts, not single cuts. I even asked if it was possible to upgrade to better quality single cuts, and was told that it wasn''t. If you''re interested, here''s my thread (with pics) on that setting: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/if-you-ever-wondered-what-logr-single-cuts-look-like.125942/

I will go for split-shank too, #1 band is too thin for my liking :)

thanks for all of the opinions so far!

looks like 3 is not getting a lot of love. i guess i do kind of have a setting like that already.

i was thinking that #1 was my next choice. i do like the split shank of #2...but i wonder if #1 will showcase the stone better.

oh, decisions, decisions! :) :) :)

2 is lovely, but you''re right 1 might showcase the stone better, also you can wear a band with no 1.

Not crazy about #1, cause a halo would make the central part even larger and the shank is very thin, so I''m not sure about those two elements creating a nice and balanced look.

#2 is my top choice, split shank gives it that balance which I think is lacking in #1.

#3 is my 2nd choice, shank is still thin, but at least there''s no halo that would make the center part larger, so I think it works. But if you already have something very similar...

I like the split shank the best. Having that split gives some balance to the setting since the stone is an oval set N/S.

Ok, I have decided to eliminate #3.

Now I need a different kind of help. Have any of you submitted a best offer to LOGR? How low have you gone and been successful? #1 is $178 BIN, and #2 is $189 BIN. Both have the option of best offers, though. Any thoughts?

And I assume I should upgrade the diamonds?

I liked 2 & 3, but you already have something similar to 3 and that''s out of the running now so...I like 2!

I''ve never bought from LOGR so I''m no help on submitting an offer!

The shank on #3 looks cheaper than on #2 and #1 which steers me away from it. It probably doesn''t look like that in real life and is lovely but just comparing the photos it doesn''t have the "ooomph" of the other two.

The first one will place the emphasis on the central stone with an accent of bling.

The second one will have more of an impact and the setting will take centre stage with the gemstone and be an overall bigger look.

Do you want a subtle or a big look because I think that''s the difference between #1 and #2.
