About a week ago, I posted about the possibility of halo-ing my Jubilee (which is currently in a three-stone setting), or switching my Jubilee for a round and going with a cushion-y halo.

Here''s the thread:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/round-stone-in-cushion-y-square-halo.42681/=

I''m now leaning toward halo-ing my Jubilee. I''m just so gosh darn fond of the stone that I don''t feel like swapping it for a round--today anyway.

Sooooooooooo...I was wondering if I could get feedback from y''all on possible setting options--or the option to leave it as a three-stone ring.

I''m going to have to do this in multiple posts because I don''t know how to do them all in one.

Anywho...Here''s what I currently have:

Here''s a halo option that I think is quite nice:

I also think this is quite lovely (although I''m a teensy bit concerned that it might be...too much of a good thing):

Kathleen, your ring is very beautiful. However, if you want a halo, and it''s calling to you, get it. Someone else had a jubilee put in a halo, and it turned out gorgeous. I believe Quest did it. It''s in the show me the ring portion. I will see if I can find the thread and link it.

My vote is for the first halo. That really makes that stone pop!

And finally, there''s this Tacori setting. I like its round counterpart and thought the square halo might be nice as well.

So...what does everyone think?

Should I leave my ring as a 3-stone? Or do a halo thing?

It''s a right-hand ring, so I don''t want it to look too engagementy....

Thanks for all of your help, insight and suggestions!

I recently haloed my Jubilee hehe http://www.pricescope.com/forum/steam-room/part-ii-my-jubilee-e-ring-reset-is-finally-done-with-some-fun-extras-from-quest-t39911.html

You will have to go the custom route if you want to halo the Jubilee because the stone''s unusual shape...I guess technically you could put it in an asscher halo setting but I''m not sure if that will even fit just right.

Just wondering, why are you wanting to change the ring? I love it as is...in fact I would have gone the three stone route instead of halo if they had anymore Jubilees
3.gif

Do you have anymore pictures of your Jub? I would love to see more

I do remember princess v''s halo. It''s one of the reasons I caught halo fever so bad!

So...let me ask you this: do you think a 6mm stone is big enough to make a halo work? I''m leaning toward an teenier-tinier halo like the first one. Will the center stone get lost? Do you think the halo''d ring will seem...smaller...than the three-stone one I currently have?

Also, do y''all feel like the halo is too e-ringy/weddingy for me to wear on my right hand?

Oh, and here''s that darn Tacori that I can''t get to post:

Kathleen, the center stone in my ring in my avatar is 5.96mm. Does it look too teenny tiny to you?

You ask a good question: why would I want to change my 3-stone to a halo? I have no good answer except that I do love a good halo. Of course I love a 3-stone, too, and thus the quandry.

I guess this is really driven by a desire to maximize the size of the diamond. I was thinking the halo might do that nicely. On the other hand, two side stones do a pretty good job of that as well.

So I''m pretty torn and am looking for any and all input and opinions. I feel like I need outside insights will really help here!

Hi Shay, I've long admired your ring!

Seems like a lot of the examples I see are of stones that are, like, 2 carats, so it's hard to get a handle on how mine would look. We're like millimeter twins!

Can I ask what size rings y'all wear?

I do like the somewhat "teenier, tinier" halo. I feel like that might complement without overwhelming...Whaddya think?

I agree about the size halo. My stones are about 1 1/4 pointers in the halo. It''s a delicate look that adds 2 1/2 mm to the diameter of my stone without overwhelming it.

I wear a size 4.5 full. Thank you for the compliment on my ring.

Thanks for the info about your ring--and your ring size. (My size 6 finger covets your ring size!

Also very helpful to know the size of the melee and how much diameter the halo adds to the stone. That was one of my questions. The settings I''m looking at are somewhat customizeable, but I''m not sure about the size of the melee. I''ll have to ask.

Any opinions on changing from a 3-stone to a halo for a RHR? I love Kaleigh''s asscher halo. That''s a RHR, I think....?

kathleen: Hehe I''m glad I contributed to your halo madness!
31.gif
I love my halo...my Jubilee measures 6.06x6.07 to give you an idea and with the halo measures 10.71x10.75 mm which is huge! If anything, I think the halo gets lost in the diamond, not the other way around. Quest used 1.3mm melee in my halo, since you like Kaleigh''s asscher too that was also made by Quest maybe you should give them a call and see what they say? Their prices are really good too. Lmurden and diamondlil also have halos made by Quest. So far, so good the other great thing is that Quest has a lifetime free resizing and replacement of melee, just in case anything falls out..but so far so good!

Btw, if you want it to look like a RHR, I vote for 3 sided pave heheh!

I did think about going Quest. I just love the job they did on all of your halos!

The setting that I attached was from Mark T. at ERD, and I''ve liked a lot of his rings, too.

Of course, in a perfect world I''d have a halo and a 3-stone ring. But that might get in the way of little things like buying food.

I think a halo would look fabulous with your stone and really make it shine as the center star.

I know Quest does wonderful work, so that is a definite possibility. The halos I posted were surprisingly reasonable (well, relatively speaking based on some of the halo threads I read), so I''d be curious what Quest''d come in at. I also need to think about whether or not a somewhat-pre-made setting would fit my Jubilee, or if I''d need to go totally custom.

Do y''all prefer one halo style over another...?

Hi ladies!

Hi kathy!!! The halo's are incredible and after going through Princess V's thread I was just blown away. I don't think you'll regret doing it as long as you like the halo. Princess V ... DAYUM YOUR RING LOOKS SO AWESOME!!! I am sorry I missed that thread

but I am so happy for you nonetheless.

Kathy... of the 3 styles posted I think I like the first option best.

If you go the halo route, will you keep the ring as a 3 stone, as in the second pic that you posted? And just halo the center diamond?

Actually, I like that idea best of all.

Hi Jazmine!

So...are you thinking that you like that second Beaudry-esque setting I posted (center diamond halo''d with traps beside it)? Or that I should halo the center stone on my existing 3-stone ring? Never thought of that second option. Options abound!

Yes, I think that keeping the side stones that you have and haloing just the center would look absolutely amazing! That would be a twist on the tradional halo solitaire. And you get the best of both worlds!
