I am going to have a cushion cut diamond 1.2-1.5 carats. I am having WF make an ER setting and band for me. All along I thought i was going to go with pave or shared prong, but I think I have decided I want a plain solitaire with a shared prong wedding band. Do you think that will be ok? I never see any cushions that aren't in pave bands. So, I need ideas/pics to give my BF so he can get this thing designed (or if its already made, then that is even better!)

I know that it must:

Fit flush with wedding band
be 2mm wide (approx)
look ok with plain or shared prong wb
have claw prongs

I would like it to have be unique as well. Surprise diamonds/sapphires maybe (if that is possible). Also, will i have to get this soldered together to protect them from rubbing against each other? Thanks!

Hi, Courthorn...

Have you seen this thread? Entitled "Show me your e-ring with diamond ..."

(Sorry...I''ve never figured out how to post links...

) I found it by doing a search for "eternity bands". It''s a long thread with lots of pics and discussion...

You might check it out....

There is a plain cushion setting on the from page at Mark Morell''s ... the ring is quite large, but the floaty setting seems so appropriate for a dainty version & shared prong companion band

Although... it is hard to fight off a clasic

Can't see any detail making this one nicer than it is. And a well made band shouldn't need to be pegged to the ring to be safe on it.

Thanks MrsSalvo-- Do you think that a ring like that hers could be made thinner (~2mm)? Also, it looks like it sits flush. Does it seem like it would sit flush if it were thinner?

ETA: I just re-read her thread, and it looks like there is a small gap between the 2 rings. Hmm, wonder if it would bother me...

I''m sure you could have the ring made thinner and the prongs modified for a flush fit..
