I'll start.

Finished school
Started business
Celebrated ninth year with SO
Bought new hybrid car
Reunited with long lost niece
Bought first the Octavia diamond moments after it got listed

This might be a good opportunity to basically recap stuff for those with bad memories. (Not me of course

)
It can also serve to introduce each of us to the newbies.

Enjoyed a January camping trip, even though I got sick
got a new kayak
Lost SO''s great aunt in spring
Found out one of my oldest friends had cancer in March, he beat it!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO
Found out I''m a bridesmaid, found my bridesmaid dress and am doing my best to help my bride.
enjoyed several trips to West Palm
Lost my friend in June
Threw my bride a wedding shower in June, loved every second of it.
enjoyed an athletic and fun camping trip in July, and saw fireworks
moved to our own place in September
Lost SO''s great grandmother in September
Got my first gym membership in September
got sick sick sick in October
ran my first 5k in October
Lost SO''s father and got robbed in November
Enjoyed all of Christmas season, with walks, jogging, shopping, family fun
Waving goodbye to 2009, a year of loss and challenges.

In order of events:
In 2009 I took my first trip to South America
I reconnected with old friends
I got engaged - which brought me 2 family diamond rings
DH (then FI) landed a great job for next summer which he''ll be able to go to after graduation
I got married - which brought me 2 gorgeous new wedding bands

Moved accross the country
Upgraded my 1.167ct K SI1 to a 1.20ct G SI2
Had our first family Christmas with our son in a new city

Pretty uneventful in terms of amount of stuff, but it was a big year.

Vacationed in Cape Cod for our one year anniversary

* found out puppy gal required double knee surgery, decided on a specialist despite add'l cost, helped her recover
* bat got into house, rabies scare while DH was out of the country
* my Dad comes to visit
* kitty girl dies suddenly, autopsy shows cardiac incident, mourn
* DH's main project takes him across the country for three weeks ... the longest we've been apart
* Visit Utah
* Sit next to "Rain Man" on plane back
* get offered amazing "dream" freelance job -- falls through
* get offered two-part freelance job -- 1/2 falls through
* accept & complete arguably best work of my career while having a ton of fun doing it & meeting long time idols
* Spend Fourth of July on my parents new boat in my hometown's harbor under a canopy of fireworks (a childhood dream come true) -- and when I say "spend the night" I mean actually sleep on the boat! Tight quarters w/ four adults & a tiny dog.
* DH trades in his 2 cars on a used but very pimped Prius
* other kitty girl becomes very ill suddenly and we must say goodbye to her also, still mourning
* cover red-carpet event & attend after party
* paint house purple
* find two antique OECs and create long wished for Widget-style platinum bezel studs with milgrain inside edge
* visit sisters, help one move into new house ... other purchases mansion ... deal with jealousy.
* Brother & GF come to visit, discover fabulous eatery nearby
* DH gets permission to work from home one day a week & can resume night classes
* survive epic Xmas snow storm & stressful family vaca
* find out "Rain Man" has died (late fifties)
* finally convince DH he needs "winter boots" -- gift him with a pair of motorcycle style Uggs, not taken off since
* DH gets nice bonus for his work on the cross-country project. We decide: savings + Kindle (for him).
* Seemingly win this year's Celebrity Dead Pool (not official until midnight) -- decide not to participate next year after all the death this year.
* glad to be home & warm on this snowy New Year's Eve surrounded by two kitty boys, dear pup & a working-from-home hub. Happy New Year to all.

ran my first half marathon
TONS of friends got engaged and/or married!
Took Fi to see Wicked for the first time
crazy hyper dog calmed down oh so slightly

It''s been a black hole of a year. Nothing horrible happened, but no major life changes either. I''m determined to make the most of 2010 and not coast through it like I did 2009

Celebrated one amazing year with A by taking him to New York City
Turned 25
Trained all summer for 36.2 miles of races in September/October
Ran the VA Beach Rock and Roll Half--PR!
Ran the Philly Distance Run 2 weeks later (another Half Marathon)
Ran the Army Ten-Miler 2 weeks after that
Got sick of running
Traveled to Chicago and Ann Arbor with A to see my mom and for MICHIGAN FOOTBALL (we lost)
Fought and made up with best friend
Traveled to Kansas City for Thanksgiving with A''s ENTIRE FAMILY
Traveled to Ohio for an early Christmas and to see my little sister get her Master''s Degree

Excellent year!

Interesting thread!

In order:

We went on a family vacation to Key West (It was the first time my parents had traveled with both sons in law!).
I parasailed for the first time. Very scary.
My husband got a job in May ''09 (after being unemployed for a while).
One of my closest friends had her first baby, and another friend is pregnant with her first.
We celebrated our one year anniversary.
We moved far away from most friends and family, and I left a job I loved.
I got a new job in my new state, but hated it so much that I quit.
I found a much better new one not too long afterwards.
The town I taught in before moving suffered a terrible crime and loss of a beloved person, and the townspeople are still dealing with it.
The children (my students) at the school were affected greatly. This, in turn, greatly affected me.
Went to the mountains.
Went to the beach.

I really, really hope that 2010 will be better! A lot of positive things were overshadowed by negative events.

Discovered deathly allergy to cockroaches
Moved into second, mercifully cockroach-free second home in new city
I started my career/dream job
I bought a car - the first I've ever gotten for myself

Moved into new apartment with fresh bachelorette status.
Filed divorce papers, self-represented.
Represented self in other court matters, thinking of going to law school.
Re-connected with numerous characters from the past and wondered why ties were ever cut.

2009 was a year of working and waiting for me...

- Took spontaneous trip to Minnesota to watch the Eagles playoff game with SO & FBIL - They won!
- Worked, worked, worked....
- Went house hunting and signed a contract on our first home and then proceeded to wait 6+ months to finally close (finally first week in 2010)...
- SO bought engagment ring

- he just picked it up today! (pics after he proposes)
- My beloved family dog was hit by a truck and passed away.

- Took a trip to Paris & London with SO
- Was admitted to the DC bar
- Turned 25
- Found out my SIL is pregnant with a girl!
- Spent first night apart from SO in 2 1/2 years (it was NOT fun!)
- Spent first Christmas where we were able to see both of my parents and SO's parents.
- Realized law school was a terrible investment - began countdown until I can leave my job!
- Hired a personal trainer and lost 15lbs.
- Celebrated 4th anniversary with SO.

Flew to Rarotonga, Cook Islands for two weeks, attended family wedding while there
Published first refereed journal paper for grad school
Was MOH in dear friend''s wedding, made her veil and chuppah and cherished every moment of it
Had long distance marriage for 3 months while DH was working in Raleigh, NC
Started looking for employment for after graduation

found out I was having a daughter.

went on maternity in may and won''t go back to work until next september

had my dd in june

asked to be moh and my son to be the ring bearer in my bf''s wedding
my cousin had a pacemaker put in and is now doing better
lost my grandfather and uncle within 12 hours of each other

went to jamaica with family and friends (30 all together)

started renovating the basement
decided that this christmas was the last we will travel anywhere....christmas eve is for visiting and the day is for us and the kids to relax and enjoy each other
