I agree, Kaleigh-Hellmann's is really just the only mayo there is! I guess Best Foods is a close second mostly because the name is wrong! And I can really tell right away if it's not Hellmann's mayo! I despise Miracle Whip, Kraft mayo, Duke's, etc. They just taste horrible to me!

I am a total food brand loyalist. Whatever my mom used is what I want! And I do NOT like store brands. My mom never bought them and I never buy them either! I'm a food brand name snob, apparently, and it's all my mom's fault!

I don't know who invented that stuff, but they should be flogged. It's horrendous.
14.gif

And I too, have been known to eat a fried Spam sammich once or twice...... It really is so good, yet so bad. lol

*note to self, no tuna salad when visiting the UK*

Just celery and mayo please.
3.gif
No corn, thanks.
2.gif

I knew there was a reason I liked you so much, Skippy! This is the ONLY way tuna salad should be made. I have deep convictions about this because it''s the way I was raised. Tuna is only supposed to be garnished with HELLMANN''S MAYO and CELERY.
THING Ahhh, that is the ONLY way I will eat it.
lol.gif
I agree, thats the only way it should be made.

In Korea, I hear they put SPAM on Pizza. Which doesn''t sound like a bad thing to me...I am an admitted SPAM lover.

I like SPAM but haven''t had it in ages. Have you had spam sushi? hehe They do that where Obama was born. hehe

Gotcha. I don't put mustard in my tuna either! I like mine w/mayo and celery on white soft bread. In England they put corn in tuna sandwiches and I wasn't too fond of that.

Corn in tuna????
14.gif
OK, where is Lorelei?????????????
I here!
35.gif

I bear bad tidings folks.....Corn and tuna is an oft found combo here! You can find tuna and corn sammiches, tuna and tinned sweetcorn salad - if your casserole, salad, sammich, pizza or even cereal * JK*
11.gif
has the blahs...throw in a tin of sweetcorn!
3.gif

I say yuck too however, I think it is a horrible combo
emotion-41.gif
- but Skippers is right!

lol.gif

LOL Miss Lorelei, glad you said that;
bat%20eyes3.gif
I was worried I was the only person who didn't like it when I was out there.
9.gif
I do like that the crusts of the bread are cut off.

YOU Freke? Teehee. OK, for lunch I had my TUNA sandwich. Actually, I made a tuna melt. Yummmmy. Tuna, sliced tomato and a slice of cheese. It was delicious. I thought of all of you too, while I shoved it in my wide open mouth

Well I am a bit late (8 PAGES!) to this thread but I have to say that the Roman tuna salad from Whole Foods is my absolute favorite, eaten piled on top of full fat full salt potato chips.
18.gif

There's all sorts of stuff in there that might offend delicate sensibilities though... artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, that sort of thing...

I wish we had a Whole Foods near by. Our nearest one is one hour away

Dee, sometimes when I make a tuna sandwich, I put chips inside of the bread

OK, so I just went surfing for the recipe and the one that I find talks about capers but no artichoke hearts or roasted red peppers
33.gif

Not that it really matters because I would never make* something I can just buy at the deli counter anyway, but this is perplexing.

(* make = have the HH make, LOL!)

They are marinated. They actually taste like (dare I say it?) upscale dill pickles!

BTW, let me just say I am STARVING. If I was not already in bed under a down comforter and two large dogs I would trott my a$$ right over to WF and get some tuna salad right now. I already called the HH in California (he''s there for the whole week) and told him that I''m going there right after the gym tomorrow. He was like, um, great, you are officially *out of your mind* to be this excited about making a plan to go to the grocery store and get some tuna salad!

Thank god at least you people understand!

LOL... would I be a bad wife if I said I have no idea? I actually thought he was in Dallas but that appears not to be the case, ha ha...

(Then again, last week he thought I was in Brazil rather than Peru for the first four days of my trip. By the time he figured it out I was already in Ecuador anyway. Maybe we need to start giving each other our itineraries.
