Well, PriceScope, this has been a long time coming...
I am pleased to announce that my partner and I are officially engaged! On Tuesday, September 3rd, he and I went to the aquarium on a date. In true Seattle fashion, it started raining as we were outside watching the seals eat and play. We didn't let the rain ruin our fun, though! We were most excited to see the otters, as we both adore them (my favorites are river otters, he prefers sea otters). We have several private jokes concerning otters and love to make otter puns, so I was hoping that maybe something would happen at the otter exhibit!
G did not disappoint, and sure enough, after we had had enough squeeing over how cute the otters were, he bent down on one knee and pulled a clam shell out of his pocket. He opened the clam shell to reveal my engagement ring (!) and asked me to be his "otter" half. You guys--- this was the cutest thing ever. His proposal was so thoughtful and adorable. I'm pretty sure the only thing that came out of my mouth for a few seconds was "eeeeeeeeeeee," but then I accepted his proposal and he put the ring on my finger. Totally overjoyed-- but he had to ask me not to cry
Here are a few photos from our day at the aquarium!
This tank is one of my favorites. See the giant clam? SO AWESOME.
Cuttlefish! So cute.
SEA OTTER FRIENDS!!
Here is the clam box he made for the proposal:
And.... tada! Ring!
Fire!
More pics to come in the next post. I know the ring is what you all want to see
