My fiance and I just got back from Paris, where we got engaged! My fiance proposed on our hotel balcony overlooking the Arc de Triomphe - he completely caught me off guard (I was fiddling with the camera at the end of a long day of sightseeing!) I was positively giddy and jumping around and squealing for a reallllllllly long time before I even opened the box!
I''m going to attempt to post some photos, and will follow up with more later.
The ring is from Cartier, in their Declaration d''Amour style. It is a 1.11 D VS1 round brilliant set with 4 prongs, and the shank has baguettes. The ring is very "clean" and architectural looking, and I love the deco-y side view. I''m just thrilled!
Cartier did a wonderful job with the packaging. The ring of course came in the signature red box, but then they wrapped it with lovely white paper, a red velvet Cartier ribbon made into a rosette, and then a red wax stamp embossed with interlocking C''s. The presentation was just lovely.
We had a great experience browsing and purchasing with them and will get our wedding bands from them as well. We got this ring at the Bond Street (London) location but we also spent quite a lot of time looking at their 5th Ave location in NYC.
So, without further ado (and with apologies for the photo quality - I would kill to be able to take photos that capture the incredible amount of sparkle this ring emits!) ...
