Sorry, I apologize for the limited information.

2.30 CT EC
E, VS2
Depth: 64.4%
Table: 63%
VG Polish
VG Sym
No Flour

Length to width is about 1.28:1

I don''t know the crown % which I understand to be very important. It''s a GIA cert stone, but there is no figure for the crown%. Based on these, how does this seem?

It certainly seems promising so far. The 1.3 ratio means this EC is somewhat fatter than the usual (matchbox like) but I think it''s a very pretty shape and the stats do sound lovely.
1. Will the vendor be able to get you a sarin or the crown height?
2. What is the girdle like?
3. Any picture of the EC (to see the symmetry and lines of the steps)?

It certainly looks promising. Personally, I prefer a fatter EC.

It''s actually a local jeweler''s stone so I''ve seen it a few times. It''s really nice looking and I remember the the girdle being within the 1A range.

The E color makes it so white. And I too like the slightly fatter EC.

Well, since it is in the store itself, why take it out for a "spin"?
1. Look at this EC in various lighting (outdoors sunny and overcast, incandescent, fluorescent)
2. Rotate the EC slowly side to side and observe how the steps "act"
3. You should be able to gauge the crown height by looking at the stone (or perhaps the jeweller can help)

This is what I observed when shopping for my EC. Hope it helps: Ultimate EC?

Kinger, if the jeweler has other ECs, make sure you compare them side by side to see if this one really pops compared to the typical stone. Also, make sure you go and see ECs at other jewelers.
