Blue Nile is hardly the only diamond vendor with princess out there. Why not look at vendors that will actually SHOW you some pictures before going through all the expense and hassle of shipping in & probably back "out" again.

Also ... I posted my new fave princess setting for ya ... from Diamend Scassi I think. In case you decide against the "lucida" type yellow gold you have now.

As deco so aptly pointed out, BN is not the only vendor around and certainly not necessarily the most respected around here, I would NEVER buy a princess or a fancy or probably even a round without an image and a Sarin and an idealscope or similar. Numbers just tell you a bit of the picture on a fancy as you are now probably noticing since you are on your second unsure stone.

If you really want to apply this knowledge that you are seeking, then I'd say nix a vendor like BN that won't show you even a picture of the stone (which I thought they actually WERE starting to show Sarins and pictures of stones, but maybe just for rounds), and start looking into vendors where you get more than a 'signature' moniker (which means nothing) to give you peace of mind.

Val, you aren't being harsh, you speak the truth!

You may want to try other dealers. I''m not exactly sure what ct. weight you were looking for but,

Try these:

In my opinion, the yellow gold is simply not working, especially when you have such a colorless stone. If you want to try and make your stone look larger, you can try a thinner setting. Or if you like this type of setting, consider getting this in platinum or white gold and have it made slightly thinner.

Here are some pics of other settings:

I particularly like the eternity ring setting a lot and was considering it myself. I attached the picture below. It gives it a different look though.

I think that with the right stone, a solitaire princess can be just stunning esp when paired with an eternity princess band or something, we have seen a few of those around here and they are just so classic. Of course right this minute I can't think of who has a set like that.

I like thinner bands, but in reality whatever you absolutely LOVE is what will work for you!!

Is there a 'show me your princess' or similar type thread in the SMTR? Maybe more ideas can be had there.
