Hello-
I am new to this board and am thankful for all the wonderful threads. I recently went to Chopard and saw the most beautiful cushion cut with micropave band- similar to the Harry Winston ring, but I think prettier! It was VS2, G color, 2.3 cts- and yes $67K! So, I am off to try and find a diamond that has excellent specs- and of course not pay the $67K. I want something around 2.8-3.1 carats.
My question- when I tried on the ring at Chopard, the ring looked much bigger on finger than my current diamond (2.7 ct RB).
however- in reading some of these threads- some are concerned with the size looking smaller (although it's technically larger) than a round brilliant. I am assuming the depth was very short.
Which brings me to the specs- I know from reading here- that lots of links are given, and it's all a matter of taste, but could someone kindly share an ideal type GIA cert for a cushion cut diamond.
I esp. want to know about table and depth. Are too big of tables not desireable? Does one want a shorter depth. Like many women where diamonds are concerned- size matters! So I don't want wasteful proportions.
Thanks
