Car buying tips from someone in the biz:
1) Go in with a list of what you want, expect, and will pay for.
2) Be firm about not accepting any less.
3) DON'T say "I can afford X per month." Say "I'll do only X years on contract and no more than X amount, at the lowest interest."
4) Tell them you want to drive the car overnight on a Ride and Drive contract. You need to know whether you really like it.
5) Make sure you have the credit rating to back up your requests.
6) Go to each dealership driving a car from a competing dealership. Let's them know you are shopping around; motivates them to give you their best deal possible to win you.
