I spoke to Bob at WF today about the stones in the shank of the ring. HE said baguettes tend to dirty and lose their sparkle more quickly and they tend to break. He suggested a princess cut stone instead.

Have you heard that before or have experience with either?

What about any photos??

I wouldn''t say they tend to break but they do look dirty faster than an RB would. All step cut stones need to be cleaned more often. But that''s not really a big deal.

I''ve never had a baguette break, but all step cuts show the dirt more easily; however I love the sleek, classic step cut look so I just clean them more often.

my moms wedding band has i think six total baguettes (horizontal), and she''s had to replace one or two at least twice because they broke and her jeweler had warned her of this.

if you like the step cut could you do asschers or ECs instead of princesses?
