Advice needed for alternative vendors

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the gemstone world, since I just started collecting after I bought a few sapphires on a trip to Vietnam. I've looked at the trusted vendors list that you guys put together here (great list, by the way), but I would like to test a few other vendors I found with you.

1 - JTV Aucitions. I found quite a few good deals in that auction site. Is it reliable? Did anyone use it before?
2 - deepakgems.com. This vendor from India has INCREDIBLE prices. Seems too good to be true. Any opinions on that?

The overall review for JTV is poor to downright fraud.

The quality of gems offered looks to be the typical overly dark/overly washed out commercial quality, hence they are priced accordingly.
