Oh I just checked the rose quartz listing on LT and it looks like it's completed!! Hopefully a PSer picked it up. :appl:

I hope so too! I've been coming back to it again and again just because I love the color so much. But I am in the same boat as you in that I just can't see myself using it (and the 1K+ price tag means I could spend it on something else I would wear much more often).

The newly cut Aquamarine Asscher on the Finewater site looks really nice. It's 5.48 carats.

The description from Gary:

A big beautiful blue natural aquamarine in the ever popular Asscher-style, direct from the mines in Kaduna, Nigeria. Very very clean - some light wispy inclusions are somewhat visible my my highly magnified photos but are invisible under normal viewing conditions. It's also a more intense and saturated blue than the photos would indicate, with no gray or green. The finest aquamarine that I've ever cut.
5.48 ct, 10.4 x 10.4 x 8.3mm, VVS clarity
$2740

I was going post about that gorgeous Aqua by Gary B, Acinom beats me to it.

It reminds of my asscher cut top colour natural blue topaz from Doug.

Hi lovedogs: we ask that when you post items to this thread, you post the details and the price. So things like material, carat weight, clarity, and price are kind of necessary for people to know whether its worth considering, y'know? ;)) Plus a link if possible...though I don't think its possible to link to that group since its a private group (at least I think it is  ).

Sorry, you are totally right, Minous! I keep forgetting the group is private unless you request to join. Here is the description given by the seller

1.17ct Neon Natural Orangy Pink Tanzanian Spinel
$330 — Lafayette, IN
6.55mm by 4.13mm deep, stone is eye clean with a bit of sleepiness, but very neon.

Asking $330 shipped in the US or OBO, International shipping by registered mail actual price.

First two picture are in sunlight third and fourth pictures are indoors with flash.

I'll attach the pics again now that I have the description included.

I contacted Gene about the Maine tourmaline rough and he just sent me a reply saying that he doesn't really do commissioned work. I'm a bit sad because I've seen stones on PS that were cut by Gene that were commissioned by other PSers. Maybe it's just me. :((

Oh no! So surprised to hear this. Gene cut the Afghan tourmalines for us and he promised to cut electric blue topaz for me as well (I decided to not pursue the latter as I did not hear anything for a long while). I know he promised to cut for other PSers as well. He might have changed his policy? Hope we get more info on this.

Mochiko: I have an idea for you about that tourmaline you sought. If you would like, feel free to contact me off the board and I can share the information I have. :))

Ditto for me too! I guess we're all in the same boat. :boohoo:

Side note: I asked about that gorgeous green in the main tourmaline...no way i'm the only one. He did mention that it was pretty small (about 1ct).

Sorry for being off-topic but has anyone noticed that Barry is tweaking his pictures these days? He never used to do this but perhaps he feels the need to do so now with other vendors doing the same brightness amplification. I also used to be able to "read" Brad's pictures accurately but the last few stones turned out very unlike his pictures which resulted in 100% returns.

Hi All, On Loupe Troupe

Jim McCormack has a lovely 7.09 pear shaped ethiopian (SP.) opal for sale. It is reasonably priced at 325.00.

He also has a lavender asscher cut spinel at 1.81 ctw. I think 300 +

He also has listed 2 pink spinels

Sorry I don't link, but do check them out. Decent prices

Is there a video for the welo? I agree that the colour looks too good, especially for the price but then again, Welos are typically not that expensive.

I just tried finding a video also, and couldn't. But he's really responsive via email so it's worth asking him if you're interested.

For anyone interested in these stones, pay attention to the fact that there appears to be a difference between what the stones look like in the still versus the video. I personally would rely on the videos for an accurate assessment of color as they look considerably less saturated. That way, if it turns out they are closer in appearance to the photos, you are pleasantly surprised. :))

Minous--I agree. I've purchased some of his stones in the past, and his descriptions are accurate but usually video is a better way to judge the color + saturation vs. the still photos.
