We stopped by a B&M to get my finger size checked for a wedding band. While doing a quick clean on my FI''s e-ring, a pave stone fell out in the cleaner.

I''ve attached a pic of the setting if that will help people comment.

Has this happened to anyone on the forum?

Does the pic provide any explanation on why this happened?

We''ll send it pack to the PS vendor for repair next week. Thanks for sharing your experience

Sorry to hear you lost one of your diamonds. In all the time I''ve been reading here, I''ve never heard of this happening so this occurance must be pretty rare!

I believe the pave are 2 pts each.

The pic was at x60 magnification so the hole looks huge

I''m not an expert but I don''t think this is too uncommon...Pave can be riskier than other types of melee settings. Any stone can become loose in a setting over time and the ultrasonic cleaner is just what it takes to "pop" one out. I had one come loose on my bead-set ring...they just fixed it.
