I'm excited to start a fun new project! I found a lovely sapphire on preloved (thanks SarahBear) and want to make a ring that will compliment my family heirloom ring (attached). More photos of the sapphire before repolishing can be viewed here http://jewelsbyericagrace.smugmug.c...-Ring/15987223_5wk8sB#!i=1199230086&k=q82SdT6
I'm thinking custom and will probably approach DiamondZone in Chicago and a Pricescope vendor (suggestions?). I'm hoping for suggestions from the group or even a sketch since I'm a terrible drawer.
I'm wondering whether I should try to match the ring I have or go with a standalone piece that's complimentary. I want white prongs and at least two sidestones.
Is flush fit common? I've found one inspiration photo showing flush fit (see next post). It's really important to me that the sapphire sit over the existing ring, which is less than 2mm high.
Thanks in advance for your help!
