Honestly? Possibly some relief that she never married him. I doubt this was a first time act of craziness or impulsion. People don't just suddenly become totally crazy.

Of course but still. What a terrible thing to have happened and to live with. The image of that will never leave. She's not responsible obviously in any way but I am sure she feels horrible.

Yeah. If she's halfway normal, she may not be feeling any guilt because obviously HIS reaction wasn't normal and she couldn't have caused it...but she's I'm sure feeling pretty weirded out and horrified by this...as I'm sure whoever watched it happen.

As much as "logically" she'll probably "know" it's not her fault, still...she may feel guilt over so many things...maybe she had a feeling he should be getting help and never pushed it...maybe she had a feeling he had been acting a little odd that day, but instead of asking, she ignored it...maybe...

The list could go on and on.

I find it incredibly sad that instances of depression and suicides rates increase during the holidays. It's such a happy and busy time for most of us that we sometimes forget how difficult this time of year can be for others. I think this story serves as an important reminder to check in on loved ones that may be struggling.
