Since I am back and posting

I thought I would catch up on some gemstone purchases over the years in which I have neglected to share my experiences.

There are some of my favorite vendors…One of them is Wink.

I have purchased a few stones from Wink in which I will share my experiences with.

The first was a tsavorite garnet which Wink got for me about 3 years ago. I wanted a top notch stone and he got me one. The kicker about this stone is it is a 1.17 ct. tsavorite and Wink got it from Pala for me. Wink told me the stone was $1700. I arranged payment and Wink kindly informed me after the fact he misunderstood the quoted price and it was $1700 per carat. Wink said he never goes back on the price he qoutes folks so I ended up saving a little money on this stone. A couple hundred bucks and Wink was a gentleman about the whole thing. Definitely a people person.

The next stone I wanted was a great looking blue round in the 1 carat range. Wink Called in a couple stones and got me this beauty… a 1 carat round Ceylon Sapphire. I am working on a project with Wink right now and will save the details for later…

Thirdly a fire engine red spinel caught my eye and Wink got this stone for me. Awesome color saturation for such a small stone. It is only .73 carats. I was thinking of a simple mens band and using the legnth of the stone to set the width of the band and having it set flush with the top of the ring.

Thats it for now, but there is something cool in the works...

I am actively working on a project with Wink with one of the stones. The other ones I bought because I liked and figured when the time comes i will make gifts for my daughter or wife by getting settings.
