I recently purchased a sapphire for my engagement ring. It's a cornflower blue, 7 x 5 mm oval. It's a brilliant color, but it has a window in the center. From reading about colored stones, I've learned windows are bad, but when I took it into a local jeweler to look at settings, he said it was a good cut and that most of the colored stones will have windows, but since it was right in the center, that it was a good stone. Is a window a major issue and sign to return the gem or is it ok to have this?
