What''s ''pinched'' in comfort fit setting?

Hi, I''m looking at a stuller setting 15420604 but it''s not comfort fit.

Q1) I''m thinking of setting separate shank and head and assemble. I came across the term pinched (it''s SH184, pinched comfort fit shank). What''s pinched?

Q2) I''m looking at 20615, 6 prong low head tiffany setting. I like the donut below 15420604 but if i assemble the shank in SH184 and head 20615, there won''t be any donut. Is there any shank that I should look at? Pls advise

i''ve always thougt a pinched shank was one that tapers or narrows toward the stone. probably best to check with your jeweler.
