Hi,
I was curious if anyone had any idea what difference the various labs meant for the price of a stone. So, for example, suppose you had a well-cut 1-carat round brilliant. How much would it go for (online or in-store retail) if it was uncertified, if it had a GIA report, or an EGL (or EGLLA) report, or and AGS report, or an IGI report.
Is there a 10% difference between uncerted and GIA? 15%? 5%?
How about IGI and GIA?
EGL and GIA?
Anyway, I''ve seen people talk about which is prefered, but I''m wondering what economic difference it makes to buyers and sellers. Of course, I''m sure that no hard-and-fast rule can be given ("In stones between 1.00 and 1.05, there is a 8.11% premium for a GIA report over an uncerted stone.") I''d be interested in any opinions.
