I came across this term in the description of a long-sold vintage emerald ring from Lang Antiques in their archives.

Maybe it is a misspelling of the term? It looks like a pretty nice stone but I have no idea what I am supposed to be looking at. Will try to upload a picture directly as well.

Thanks, Chrono, perfectly fascinating account. Too bad the Lang people spelled "gota" wrong.
