Germany's Proposed Dog Walking Law Stirs Consternation Among Pet Owners
"Two hours of walking will soon be mandatory?" asks one headline in the German press. "Is the paternalism going too far?" demands another.

"The ordinance would require that dogs be "permitted to exercise outside of a kennel at least twice a day for a total of at least one hour," according to the ministry."
Twice a day, for a total of 1 hour. To those of you who own dogs, does that seem excessive? (Full disclosure: I've never owned a dog.)
Sounds like socialism to me. I'll check with my friend in Germany and get her input.
@kenny your headline is factually incorrect. It is about one hour a day outside time total.
As per the linked article.
Going out twice a day minimum.
It is a measure to make it possible to actually punish dog owners who neglect their dogs.
I'm quite shocked and puzzled that the animal loving PS community is outraged by this.
