Vegas hotel on fire

I was just watching this on Fox News.

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 25) - A fire on the roof of the Monte Carlo hotel-casino forced guests and gamblers to flee and sent a plume of smoke above the Las Vegas Strip before easing about an hour later, hotel officials said.

My hubby is in Vegas and we were talking when he said, Hey, I think a hotel down the strip is on fire, I see black smoke pouring out of the roof!

He could not tell what hotel it was.

Yikes, that is one of my worst nightmares.

The fire is out now, but burned pretty much the whole top of the hotel where "Monte Carlo" is written on both sides. Apparently there were welders on the roof, but there is no official cause yet. It doesn''t sound like anyone was hurt, thank goodness.

I''ve always had a fear of a hotel or highrise fire and being above it.
