Two laboratories/similar names?

Apologies if this has been discussed before. I did a search but couldn’t find anything.

I, of course, know about AIGS but who are American International Gemlab? Am I right in thinking that the gemlab laboratory is one of the least desirable labs and what’s with the highly confusing name? I suspect this may fool people who think they’re using AIGS? Would love your thoughts.

I think American International goes by AIG (no S)
AIGS is the Asian Institute of Gemological Services (out of Thailand?)

Apologies for misreading your question. I am not familiar with AIG but I found these links that would suggest "no".

Thank you! I added in the word “lab” in my search so didn’t find that. AIGS is of course trusted so hopefully people don’t confuse the two.
