My DH has offered to upgrade my engagement ring. I currently have a 1.67 center stone (H, S1) with two side stones totaling 1.34 (G, VS1). All three stones are round. In order to make the upgrade worth it, what would you guess is the minimum carat weight I would need to notice a difference? IS 2.5 carats for the center going to be large enough? Does anyone have pics of three rounds with a total weight larger than 3 carats. thanks

Hi am, lucky you!!

Here''s a thread with 2-3 carat stones in it. I didn''t go through the whole thing, but on page 2 is a pic of a 3 stone from MissGotRocks. Then a few posts down are the diameters of it. Might be more pics of others, like I said, I didn''t go through the whole thread.

Hope that helps!

And please post pics when you''re done.

Yes, 2.5 carats will be plenty big enough for the center! In fact, if it is a three stone, it is going to be HUGE! When you get to that size center, I really like a round with small pear sides.

This is Kristydarling's 3.5 ct. center with pear sides. But Kaleigh on this forum has a beautiful 2.3 ct. center with pears and I'll have to see if I can find her pictures. Even if you do round sides, you can get an idea.

P.S. I think you''d notice a difference beginning at 2.0 carats.
