Large with a good price!

He said it's brownish yellow though, so people know it's a brownish stone.

Have you ever seen a yellow yellow yellow chrysoberyl?? :D

Think they all have a brown or green modifier...

Gary assured me that his chryso did not have either brown nor green, though I would be okay with a slightly brown modifier.

I also saw some green chrysoberyls that would be pretty. I would have to go to the full green end of the spectrum for that though vs a greenish yellow color.

Right, but you don't want them overly brown. I've seen nicer golden yellow chrysoberyls, but some have more brown than others.

Unfortunately yellow is right in the spectrum between green and orange, and so you'll either see some green or orange in a yellow stone. In the latter, the orange sometimes shows itself as a more muddy orange or brown.

Overly green chrysoberyls tend to look a lot like peridot to the untrained eye. However, they have a stronger luster, brilliance and hardness than peridot, which is the nice thing about them. I prefer more yellow than the green, but that is subjective. The yellow in really strongly saturated greenish yellow stones reminds me of those neon highlighter markers. That may or may not be to your liking.

The most beautiful yellow I have seen was a larger tourmaline navette from Nomads - like a piece of sulphur.

Otherwise fine Sierra Leone (Zimi) yellow FCD are gorgous.

In Chrysoberyl I prefer a hint of green - yes - textmarker neon slightly greenish yellow!!

A tulip blossom - that would be perfect to my eye.

Sometimes sulphur is cut like a gem. It's a nice color but too soft I would imagine, and very very cloudy, but very very yellow.

Yes - sometimes nature is really funny ..... the nicest gem material are so soft ( Anglesite, Sphalerite)!

Many of the nice tanzanian material has gone - no more V-Chrysoberyl, neon greenish yellow.
