Honestly, this is the best setting I've ever seen for a marquis.

I think it flows beautifully with the shape and it's just lovely.

Thank you ILander!! I must I admit I have been looking for a setting for a marquise for years. I almost decided on a halo because i knew i wanted a diamond setting that had the marquise as the focus. I am so fortunate to have found this one. Its so unique me. Thank you again!

the setting:

I searched years looking for the perfect marquise setting. Its difficult because settings are limited. My all time favorite is Machick's horizontal marquis which was custom by Greenlake. I also, came across some settings on PS that were kinda semi bezelled horizontal set. In general, not a lot to chose from. Marquise is a not so popular a stone IMO. I just had a sweet spot for one.

The setting is from "ie4u" on Ebay; they specialize in antique and some designer jewelry pieces

I couldn't believe they had a synthetic sapphire in this setting; I saw a beautiful Marquise diamond immediately but thought maybe a spinel would do? Spinel worked for a while but couldn't get the marquise diamond outta the brain. So the diamond hunt began.
