Tagic Madrid plane crash...and Unfortunate Virgin America ad

I was really sad to read about the Madrid plane crash this morning - 45 dad and 44 injured. My thoughts and prayers are with the passengers, crew and their families.

But then I was SHOCKED to see a virgin America ad right next to it, encouraging people to fly their new planes. I''m sure it was just some "snafu" on someone''s part, linking to any article with "planes" or "fly" but I would be pissed if the NYTimes put my airline ad next to an article like this!

The plane crash is very sad and tragic! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family

. I think some topics have buzz words that will bring up an ad, very weird and morbid.

If I were Virgin Air I wouldn''t be all that upset. A lot of the relatives will be flying into Madrid. It''s not like they are going to walk. One crash does not make us all avoid airplanes.

Of course I may be more pragmatic than most since I work with a large aerospace manufacturer, and I think as employees we are less prone to dramatizing accidents. We view airplanes as basic transportation, just like automobiles. The majority of air accidents are human error anyway. It''s a tragic occurrence, but an accident just the same.
