Hauyne is a stone that has been on my wish for list for a long time. Deep, electric blue - what else can I say? However, the tiny production, small percentage of facetable rough and small crystals have all conspired against me.

Well, I just won an ebay auction from the great Brad of The Gem Trader for a very nice Hauyne! Of course, it is tiny (0.07 carats!) but oh so blue.

(Didn''t I mention a while ago that I had stopped buying stones? I am a liar)

Congratulations on the win. Is it just for your collection, or perhaps it could be an accent stone for a pendant?

I am think about using it on a pendant, as it is rather soft for a ring (5-6). A sleek, modern pendant in white metal, with the hauyne in the focal point. Yum!
