Solas-what? Can I get the opinions of board in regards to Solasfera cut stones. Worth the money?
OK you asked .... what''s the approximate premium for a Solasfera over a comparable size and spec''d ideal H&A round? Are we talking Jubilee range and H&A cushion range or are we talking Tiffany range?Date: 3/1/2005 5:57:24 PM

If you have any other questions I work with these kind of stones on a daily basis and can answer any questions you may have about them.
Not everyone’s taste, I like the look of them in the larger sizes (above 1crt.) They look a bit busy in the smaller sizes however.
There is nothing really spectacular about the design though, they are basically the same as the normal ideal cuts we love but with 10 fold symmetry instead of 8 fold.
The extra facets created by the 10fold symmetry create a very pleasing optical effect.
There is a lot of extra faceting work in this cut so in this case I feel a premium in price is certainly justified

Jonathan-
One more word out of you and you will hit 2,000 postings! I must say that they are all substantive, too. You are the repository of a lot of what you call, here, ''geeky knowledge''. Congratulations!

even thought i can''t afford it ,never could afford something that i can''t pronounce, but any way, here''s my question...am i correct to assume, with the extra facets the solasfera ''flashes'' are smaller compared to a traditional H&A ideal cuts? what about your eighternity?
Here are a couple of Solafera''s on the Isee2. They always get outstanding results via diffuse light testing. This was one unknown the manufacturers didn''t have access to when then began the project as they didn''t have access to this technology. Obviously they were pleasantly surprised.Date: 3/2/2005 6:18:17 PM

Jonathon,
Two questions...
How do the Solasfera stones do in the I-See-2 machine? And...
Can you possibly please post a few photos (different angles, lighting, etc.) of a Solasfera stone beside an ideal-cut H & A? That would be so interesting for those of us who may otherwise never get to see one or ''compare''.
THANK YOU!
Lynn
