Softest comforters?

I used to buy them from The Company Store but their material, even of a decent thread count, is not as soft as it used to be. (I use comforters as blankets. I also only buy the Pimaloft (synthetic down) as I'm not found of the feathers that come out of down comforters at times. Also, the idea of feathers is just, sort of, creepy.

Any suggestions for where to buy soft comforters (not down), on-line, at not too crazy of a price?
