I kind of suck at documenting vacation meals or basically everything vacay (I focus on being present) but here are a few food pics.

I’m a huge fan of charcuterie boards for lunch/happy hour, so this was my contribution at work potluck today. Sliced pears and tiny tomatoes makes the board look and feel and happy!

Yellow - Pineapple + lychee sorbet
Orange - Thai tea
Beige - Caramelized goat + cow milk & sweetened condensed milk

Awesome flavor combinations, you just have to take my word for it.

Yummy salad.

I'm distracted by your gorgeous bling though. Did you post them on the SMTB?

Thank you and it means a lot coming from you. Yes, shamelessly.

@monarch64 those oysters are HUGE!

They were! Between two of us we only managed to eat 11/12! I’ll tell you what: southern American seafood places are INSANE when it comes to portion sizes, and everything else sizes.

Chicken tacos (corn tortillas to the side to build your own tacos)

PXL_20230329_192055468.jpg

Zucchini lasagna with lots of mushrooms, bell peppers, and broccoli. Ricotta layer has duck eggs and parsley.

Grass fed, grass finished beef raised and processed just 10 minutes down the road. Sirloin tip roast marinated in Harissa then smoked over cherry cooking wood. Served with sauteed mushrooms & garlic with a simple salad.

Shakshuka with extra parsley. Made with duck eggs.

I miss my smoked artichokes! Our new house doesn't have a deck or anything so we need to put in an outdoor kitchen area. The smoker is sitting until we can get it set up. We had thought about just setting it in the driveway, but that isn't a great option. The wood grill works for smoking so we do use that some. It isn't great for longer cooking foods so less use for sure. We're also running into the reality of forest fire risk. Burn bans are pretty frequent and even those that don't technically include us often come with conditions that leaves us erring on the side of caution. I'm hoping we can get an outdoor kitchen in works this summer!

Photo dump of everything I've eaten recently!

Cheap and cheerful Japanese! Soooo cheap, fresh and delicious. Too bad we live far away and were only in this part of town for an errand.

Vietnamese food. Not cheap and cheerful! Cost the earth even though it was a very basic restaurant. Yummy though!

Cheapskate that I am, I went home and mass produced spring rolls!

PXL_20230531_110407813.jpg

Steamed fish. The boys insist on two fish per meal. Lucky one of my friends gifted me with a wok that can steam two fish at once!

My college kids home for summer break, so I have been cooking some homey favorites. Table top Korean BBQ, braised beef noodle soup and TikTok tomato feta pasta with creoles Italian sausage.

My first donation for Cake4Kids. It is incredibly stressful to bake something for others and not be able to taste test it (like broken prong level of stress :errrr:). She’s a late teen so did something a little more “grown up”.
