I have a sapphire ring that I need to have reset. The sapphire is a 4ct medium-dark oval. It''s currently bezel set in 14k yellow gold with a .25 round diamond on each side. The setting is very chunky (lots of gold) and I don''t care for the style of the ring any more. It really wouldn''t matter even if I did love the setting, because as I''ve gotten older my knuckles have gotten bigger, and I have a hard time getting the ring on and off.

Show me your sapphire rings! I''m looking to reset the stones into a more delicate setting, and probably switch from YG to WG, or use a combination of the two. I''m open to adding more small diamonds, too!

Hi AT, can we see some pics of your current ring? I have the same problem with my knuckles and have resorted to bridges and sizing balls to get my rings over my knuckles. I hate getting old!

Here is a picture of my color change sapphire RHR........

Catmom,

I LOVE your sapphires! the cushion cut is so beautiful. It looks like a Tanzanite. The pink is unique and gorgeous too. I love the crossover design. My everyday anniversary band is a crossover. Did you buy these both already made? or did you buy the stones loose and have the mountings made? I''m trying to ask in a round about way if you have a good, reliable, trustworthy source for buying good quality, well cut, well polished sapphires. Please share!

LOL, Thanks Woo, Linda, Gemgirl, AT and Michelle and YES I did post the pink sapphire before

but maybe it got lost in the Chicago Gem show thread.

Gemgirl, my color change was purchased separately from the setting and my pink sapphire was purchased as a complete ring at one of the Chicago Gem shows. There are many well thought of companies that people here have used. A few off the top of my head are:

The Natural Sapphire Company
AJS Gems
AC Stones

If you go to the colored stones threads and do a search there are many listed.
