Setting for big knuckle

My wife has a nice diamond ring which was sized to fit over her large knuckle. Of course it is very loose once over the knuckle. We had a spring inserted inside, but it is still too loose.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I was told that there are settings with a hinge. Does anyone have information on these?
