Rose of Sharon durability

Does anyone own or can anyone comment on, how durable Rose of Sharon rings are? They sometimes come in amethyst or onyx. I have seen one in a ruby mosaic. If you wanted durability, how would you design it? E.g. gold leaf, metal riveting, mosaic stones?

I love the ruby mosaic but am worried about losing stones.

I think the more stones any ring has, the more chances it has to lose a stone. But you can have them checked and also probably have a lost stone replaced, if one does fall out. I wouldn't not get a ring I really, really wanted over it, personally.
