There are certainly safer proportions but based on the video it looks like it has good cut precision. What we can’t tell from the video is whether the CVD has noticeable graining in person. It looks pretty clean but still needs in person assessment.OMG 0-0-0! I really wish I had the guidance of this site and everyone here to help me with my purchase. I'm now looking for a friend and would not recommend this stone because of CA 35.8 and PA 40.8. It falls out of ideal, am I correct? PA should be 40.6?
As far as proportions go I think as long as cut precision is good there’s a bit more flexibility than the often cited 34-35 crown. I posted comparisons between a 34/40.7 and a 35.8/40.7 recently, and between a 33/40.8 and a 34/40.7 as well as a 34/40.7 and a 34.6/40.7 last year. Focusing strictly on cut, I don’t think most casual observers would notice the nuanced differences in person if they are viewed separately. Side by side the differences are more noticeable, but I wonder if there would be a clear common preference between them.
What’s the difference between 2.5 carats and 1.8 degrees in a round?
