Well, I had thought I was done with spessartite shopping for a while, but admittedly, it is an addicting stone, like my cuprians, so when I saw this huge rock up for sale on Gene''s website, I went for it. It was so well priced due to the inclusions, I had to get it. I personally do not mind inclusions as long as they''re not too distracting (and these are not), and the color is good, which this stone is. It does have yellow in it, as almost all Loliondos do, but this is a vibrant colored stone, and I love it. The size is HUGE, and that''s another huge plus, as well as the great precision cutting.

Here''s the first giant picture - up close and personal. I cannot see all of these inclusions with the naked eye, but I love this picture because of the color it shows. It looks much cleaner with the naked eye. My camera really picks up all inclusions. The yellow is not overwhelming either as was the last spessartite I returned. It is definitely a primary color of orange.

I LOVE the second picture. The saturation is incredibly INTENSE!!!

It is also much more orange than yellow; you did good, but then again, I know you are a discriminating buyer.

All three of them. I think this is a cool picture for the way it displays tonality.

Thank you for all the kind words everyone!!

LD, you have nothing to be envious about. I wish I had all your cuprians!!

SS,
Yes yellow gold this time around, maybe 18K. I have an LOGR in mind.

Here's a picture of it sitting on my hand in the evening sun.

Thanks Cellentani,
Yes, when I put it in my cart and bought it, I contacted Gene to see if it had sold already because his site doesn''t automatically update when something is sold. He told me that I was the first to buy it, and I almost fainted because 99% of the time, someone

Now that is a serious spess! Its gorgeous!

I know you just got it, but have you thought of how you''ll set it? I can even being to imagine, no matter how, I am sure it will look very regal!

You have a setting picked out for it already? I don’t blame you – the colour is really fantastic. It is intense and it glows. Ring? How about a double duty pendant / brooch design? It definitely has the size to be able to do both.

Thank you all again for the lovely comments. Sorry if I don''t mention you all by name.

Chrono,
I don''t care for pendants for me (I like seeing them on other people though!!). I only like rings so I can fully enjoy the stone. That''s another reason I never wear earrings, besides having too much hair (no one would see them).

For this particular stone, would a high carat yellow gold setting be best?? Would you do a white gold?

Yellow gold for this one?

Probably yellow gold, but I''m debating high karat gold. I think 14K would suffice since it''s not overly yellow.

TL,

I agree yellow gold. OK, I would sit and stare at this beauty all day. Any idea where you will get the setting from.

I can''t wait to see it set.
