Precision Yummy Yellow Zircon!

My new cushion from Gene finally arrived yesterday,
and I actually said "whoa!" out loud when I opened this one

Specs from Gene:

Yellow Zircon - 4.55 ct. A beautiful Yellow Zircon from Tanzania, cut in a classic square cushion. Once again the picture doesn't do this one justice, it looks like a yellow diamond in person. Measures 8.90mm. I heated this stone with low heat as these are more of a rootbeer color when mined. Pretty much all zircon is heated with low heat, if not heated after cutting, it's heated at the mine.

Gene's description of resembling a yellow diamond was spot on, the dispersion and fire on this guy is stunning in all lights.
I wish zircons were just a tad harder...However I'm still going to love wearing this stone; I was thinking maybe pendant instead of ring this time...?

this sucker wasn't easy to photograph! compared to the incredible colour and scintillation I see IRL, I have to agree where Gene said this is one of those cases where the pics just don't do justice..

But of course I tried for ya's!

I wish I could capture the true colour - it''s a bright golden sunshine yellow with hints of warmer golden in the facets..

Your zircon is the reason why they are one my favorites. Fabulous pictures!!

It’s really pretty; I can see that it’s sparkle and colour might be mistaken for a yellow diamond. I’d be tempted to set it in a ring to better admire the high RI but you are right, in the long run, it’s safer in a pendant.
